you better go rent a car to drive back and forth........ if the roads are semi snow or even just barely coverred, look out man. I wasn't even joking about renting a car.... The evo on stock tires has to be as about the most dangerous car to drive on ANY snow covered road and god forbid you hit some black ice without some tires that can handle it...

interesting is like trying a redhead out for the first time, going deepsea diving or fishing or ocean diving,

if you make it unscaved - your gonna be like a crack fien who was high for like 15 hours straight when you step out of the car..... its going to be the longest, hardest drive / thing you will ever have to do and truthfully you will not make it up any small hills from a stop and if its really 6 inches of snow on the road, your gonna be STUCK might as well rent an suv or get a hotel room.

yeah, it'll be interesting when you are driving 5 mph and try to stop and the car slides 25 feet, through a stop sign, and into an intersection. INTERESTING TRUE STORY! (just a side street by my house though)

seriously, you really do need snow tires though.

12 inches of snow and the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 is spectacular in the snow. I'm actually really happy that I didn't install my Swift springs.

Snow tires + Evo (or really any rally based awd car) = better than an SUV in snow.

I use to love drifting my Impreza in the winters. I baby my Evo too much for such hijinks but these cars were made for it.

The problem with the X is the cost of 18" tires. I can't blame some of you guys for putting your cars away if you have another vehicle.

Don't even think of driving the car with the stock advans. With a proper set of snow tires you'll be fine. I drove through a few inches of snow on a mountain road and it handled perfectly. As with any car, you'd have to drive slow. AWD doesn't help you stop any faster.
