here is a link to a thread of mine with my car in the snow. Granted I was doing this on purpose but for normal everyday driving it isnt bad at all. Actually it is fun bc with a little bit of gas the rear end will drift for you.

Just had my X on the snow on Sunday, yes, on stock tires. It was dismal. Straight lines, it't not too bad if you are still making partial contact with the pavement, but otherwise, get snow tires. Even with the stockers, I was able to so full throttle pulls up the mountain, on partial snow covered roads. But turn a corner, and it's all over.

We have Benz C300 4Matic and EvoX, Both has all season tire, Continental and Michelin. Benz tires are 245.
The result of comparison is that i have more confident driving C in snow, Better breaks and more balanced around the corner on the snow. In normal driving situation Traction control kicks in on time, But on Evo Traction control is lazy and after you crash traction control kicks in and say why didn't u were more careful!
Maybe the reason is why Benz is heavier and lower height suspension and Germany has lot more snow than Japan lol

Guys ! Evo and STi are awesome on snow ! Just buy good winter tires ! Not some all-season crap. I'm on hakka 5. Good tires are most important "mod" in winter. You don't need mad amounts of horsepower.

So on the 2010 GSR, 235s will fit on the stock rims cause if that is true I'm going to order these up asap. I was thinking the blizzack LM-60's. I don't want to have my car put in the shop again esp when there is something I can do to have some control of the situation.

I have 235/40/18 on the stock rims. No problems.

Smaller tires are always "better" and recommended for snow anyway.

I'm running a set of Falken FK 245/40ZR18 and we just got 16" of snow here on Long Island and my GSR handled beautifully... defiantly recommend you to get snow/ all season tires if you are in an area with a lot of snow/ rain

Simple answer: all evos on stock tires suuuck in snow. My wifes scion Xa will run circles around it. feels like my tires are made of ice. I have slightly used alpin's for the X on there way for 500 shipped. Search craigslist. The good thing is you can always sell snow tires down the road if you get rid of the X

As so many people have mentioned already, it all depends on the tires. It's terrible in the snow on the stock tires, fair/passable in the snow with all seasons, and fantastic in the snow with winters.

I have on all seasons and they suck on packed snow. Makes me regret not getting snow tires.

I am running Blizzak LM-60's and the thing is a friggin snowmobile. Just incredible. Better than any car I have ever driven in the snow (and I drive in the snow often).

Past cars include modded Audis and a R32. I do have regular access to vehicles such as a Cayenne Turbo S and Audi S6 though and the Evo is just flat out better than them.
