Insideline Modified Evo X vs GT-R track battle!
I passed on a Black Series for a GT-R. They are really slick and have a ton of power, but I'm not to fond of the underlying CLK chassis or the true automatic transmission. My firends over at Evosport have put some really sick Black Series together.
I think the biggest thing to take from this is that for less money than a GTR you can have this performance in an EvoX and still have your grocery-getter during the week. The GTR isn't a practicle everyday car by any means.
Just my .02 cents

i agree definitely - i like how they did this test, keeping it a street car. you can't really tote on about how the evo is so great and practical when you tear out the dash and all the safety equipment/features. that defeats the purpose of an evo, or any street car for that matter. gutting/race prepping any car (well) will result in a fast one, but try doing it while making the car as safe and livable as it was from the start.. props to IL/edmunds, they always do good things
I drove my GT-R every day for almost 2 years and put over 22K miles on it. My 6 year old (then a 4 year old) sat in the back every day. I really found it to be the perfect daily driver. Other than cost, the GT-R is ideal for the street. Maintenance was a little high, but certainly worth the price of admission. Plus, it had a much bigger trunk than my Evo X MR.

sick vid nice find this just shows what you can do with extra cash, some bolt ons, and a good tune and get good results out of the 4b11

can you please list the upgrade of this "project evo?" I noticed the ams logo and everywhere and it sure gives a big thumbs up on how it was able to close the gap between the gtr and the modified evo x. It should be packaged as the US version of the FQ400.
Anyone know what the final verdict was for the Edmunds Evo problem, the one that was causing the dripping fluid from the differential? Was it the shims in the diff that went, or something else?
I thought it was being diagnosed by HB Speed?
