AMS over ARC?

So I'm looking to buy my intercooler and pipes (both lower and upper).

I was wondering what are your guy's thoughts on both products. I have a chance to get the ARC Intercooler and pipes for around 2k, but then again, for less than that amount i can get the AMS intercooler and pipes.

I guess what im getting at is, would you get the AMS pipes and pocket the savings for other mods? or jump on the bling?

It really depends what your looking to do with your car. If you want a show car go with the arc . If you wanna go fast, go with ams.

With the cast end tanks with the new AMS intercooler and the piping, I would go with AMS and pocket the difference for other mods.... It still looks good and the cast end tanks are beautiful

There are so many more mods you can get done for the difference in price.

But again, if you wanna strict show car, rock the ARC

Of course.. The day after mine comes in the mail.
I can say this about AMS though: I was struggling with even paying their price for an UICP over some of the others... I did it because I didn't find a single negative review of AMS' craftsmanship or fit/finish with their products. When I got home from the Mavs game and opened the box last night, I was very pleased I went with AMS and relieved I spend the extra money. The polished pipe is already more bling than I'll ever need and it is constructed perfectly. AMS is still a bit more coin than some of the competition, but you're paying for quality and not just a "hElLa jDm nAmE y0". Get the AMS. I'll hate you even more when you get it on sale.

Don't go with the ARC. If your looking for performance you can purchase a much larger intercooler for a cheaper price.

^This. A majority of the rare JDM stuff is overpriced. I wouldn't waste your money on that. if you don't mind me asking, why AMS? Why not ETS or Buschur or UR?

I went with:

Quality of the AMS products is top-notch. Don't have any experience with the ARC products, but JDM parts tend to be a bit overpriced for US buyers.

You should get what you REALLY want. The way you quickly decided to get the AMS stuff sounds like your heart is completely set on the ARC parts. When spending that much money on parts you really have to want and love those parts or else you'll have buyers remorse. A $850 UICP is A LOT of money. A few more hundred and you can get a 50" HDTV, or a turbo, or something else.

The AMS parts look great too. I've been to a lot of car meets and I'll tell you that if you're worried about having a some nice show stuff you'll be well off with the AMS parts, especially when compared to the majority of other cars present (unless you live somewhere where everyone drives a sick car and makes bank). Outside of the forums there aren't that many people who recognize ARC, and not many people who comprehend the price. And how often is your hood going to be open? You don't want all that nice stuff if you're only going to show a few people here and there.
