Same observation here - tight at first but after a few months they give enough that they actually become a poor man's fitted seat

At 6 ft and 210 lbs the X seats are adequate for me.

On long drives of 10-20 hours they can be a bit uncomfortable around the hips. Also, I dont really like the way the head rest is so close to the back of my head. Even if they WERE racing seats I would think the headrest might be too close for wearing a helmet?

Anyway, they werent a deal breaker for me and do ok. Ill replace them with a better quality seat when they wear out-

5-11, 230#, 36-38" pants. Seats fit fine, but I had to switch to having my wallet in my front pocket rather than back because it was causing back pain.

The GSR seats "expand" a bit more IMO than the MR leather.

Always a good idea to not sit on your wallet.

Because of the sciatic nerve and the way it raises one hip among other reasons-

Exactly the issue that I had. Took about 2 months for me to figure it out and about 4 months to recover (with repeated visits to a chiro).

And OP, with the seat in the correct seating position, the headrest does cause issues with a helmet. The car really needs a telescoping steering wheel.

+10000000000

btw 6'2' was 235 lbs when purchased the x. felt snug on the hips but not uncomfortable.

I did some weight reduction and now am 200-210 and it seems a little less snug... I too take my wallet out and put it in the cup holder everytime I get in and out of the car.

edit: saw that it was an MR... I find the cloth on the gsr to be more forgiving on the hip bolsters.

First of all LMAO. Yeah I'm a bit of a wide body at 38 in the waist and I hated those damn recaro's at first. Not I have no issues with comfort in the car at all, I guess you just get used to it.

I say either go with aftermarket seats or just find someone with a Ralliart or a Lancer and trade with them and get some extra money.

the seat bolsters are a little bit on the ball busting side more than anything...
