i can't believe this thread i opened long time ago still alive. it has been 7 months now since i bought my Evo X and the Recaro seats are definitely not an issue, at least for me.

im a 38 waist and weigh 227 and they fit me fine. At first i thought they were a little uncomfortable but i guess i got used to the comfortable s4 recaros. I fit perfect between the bolsters btw!! They are a little snug but i fit.
6' tall, was as heavy as 230 or so, down around 215 now and they fit great. Only noticed a little discomfort on a 11hr road trip, but part of that was just sitting down for so long. My 30min drive to work and home everyday is very comfortable. Fits like a glove IMO.
I'm a small guy and am currently sitting on a cushion until I can raise my seats an inch or so. (Yeah, I feel like a lesser man. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do!)
Anyway: with the cushion the seats are less snug. So if the seats are really bothering you, a cushion might be a short term solution. If the cushion works, you could then talk to an automotive upholstery shop about stuffing some more padding in the seat bottom for you. Probably cheaper than going with aftermarket seats.

I'm a big guy myself and had the same concern. The side bolsters are kinda tight but as others have said I got used to it. I'm glad they are there now as it really helps you stay in the seat in a hard turn.
