well bad economy, the X sucking hard core like it has with all the recalls and crap what do you expect. They marketed the X badly, the Lancer is doing well and the new Galant as well, but the X is killing them.

They screwed up when they went with the 3rd generation eclipse. What a girlie piece of crap. I would expect the Evo X would have problems because most brands have issues anytime a new model comes out. Usually the following year they have the bugs worked out.

they need better marketing bring back the commercials that were taken down because they "inspired street racing". Im talking about commericals like the "religion" commerical. More commercials like that...they did decent with the ralliart marketing about the awards it got from intellichoice "best value" and the awards the oem navigation got but honestly the ralliart is semi over priced and under performs against its competition (although it is the best looking).

Mitsubishi is a really interesting company. My first mitsu was an '08 lancer gts. i never considered mitsu as a car i'd ever buy, but fate happened upon me one day.
my '93 Jeep Cherokee with 278,000 hard miles broke down on the way to a Mitsu dealer. i was going to look at a used STI of all things. I was super disappointed at how bad a shape the used STI was in and i was so pissed off at my jeep for breaking down again, i decided i was driving off the lot in a new car. The '08 Evos weren't even out yet & i really didn't want an Outlander since i had just spent the last 10 years in a jeep Cherokee. i test drove the lancer and really liked it, so much so, i bought the sucker.
flash forward 2 years... I still love that lancer. no complaints, had all the bells & whistles a normal car could have, and it was very comfortable & reliable, but i wanted something a little more powerful. i didnt even consider the STI. a trip to the Mitsu dealer & i drove off the lot in my new Evo MR.
Honestly, Mitsubishi needs to do more advertising. They are sort of a hidden gem. i stumbled upon mitsubishi as a fluke, something i never would have considered. Now i am an extremely happy owner

better shape up, they might not leave the country, but for sure their profit margin will continue to sink due to other competitors offering their cars at significantly lower prices than previous years. Its a cut throat world in the car industry, and they better shape up, or their investors wallets will be hurting next year.

I view the X just like I view the STi; a unique car for any company. No one gets "tricked" into buying an STi or an Evo. You don't come into a Subaru dealership looking for an Impreza and ending up with an STi. You go in to buy an STi.
The difference, though, is people actually buy the base model Subarus, while no one buys any other Mitsus, either.
I would never buy a Mits outside of Evo. All Mits suck badly. The worst???
The Raider Truck. What a f..... joke of a truck. Now they only make 2WD anymore.
The Montero was a great car. Many people ask for them, but we could not import from Mexico,
where they are still being sold.
I saw many Monteros with 250,000 miles, owners said the still loved their cars.
