Its only 5% so you didnt over pay too much, it would be nice to get a bigger discount. Students get the same 5%

is there a significant difference with base bushings?

i mean i guess all the notchyness people complain about with stock shifter, i dont notice, so im not sure if i would notice the difference with the base bushings.

Thanks for any input.

^^^^ Yes. Get the base bushings. It only adds 10 more minutes to the install and really tightens up the shifter by keeping the base from moving.

Got mine in this weekend, gotta say I'm wicked happy with it. Had a close call when that small pin clip came flying off and hit my cheek. The install was wicked easy, only about 45 minutes. Thanks again TWM!

I love threads like this! I've been thinking about getting a short shifter kit since I got the car last year but I went with a few power mods first. I've been thinking about mods to buy/install this spring and this is now at the top of my list!

I have a Perrin short shifter, and I have the thing at the shortest-throw setting. I measured the throw, and it came out to 2 3/4 inches. Checking around the web, I found that other types of cars have a shift throw in this neighborhood, stock! My throw felt really long before I got the Perrin, so I know that the stock throw for my Evo was pretty bad. It felt like a school bus. Looking at the assembly, it looks like I can't lower the shifter any further without the bottom of the lever hitting part of the shifter housing, so the only solution left is to chop off part of the top of the lever (but then would need to thread it). Anyone know of a short-throw kit for an Evo 8 that gives a shorter throw than 2 3/4 inches?
