Off to BMW
I'm getting a used one at an incredible deal. It's about $5,000 more for the 335i which I love but I dont want to overextend myself financially so I'm settling with it(still not too shabby). I'm keeping mine stock except for some cosmetic mods but I've heard of people dropping about $2200 and pushing 390whp w/out a hitch. Insane!
It's been a good run here but you can't argue with that new twin turbo setup in the 135i. Just swung a sick deal on a used on. The suspensions alot tighter then the 335i, more like the evo. Have to do some CSL rims so t doesn't look like such a chick car. The interiors pretty sweet too,not as good as the 3's but I'd rather pocket the extra dough.
$29,999! Sparkling Graphite, 2008, 14,200 miles and loaded, the window sticker was $44K! Had it inspected and ran all the reports, no crazy visits to the dealer, ect... Theres a sick one in illinois for $30,800, black on black, 6k miles.
Good luck with it.
My Fiance leased a '06 325i Sedan & then a '08 325i Coupe for two years each. Sedan had 13k on the clock at lease end and the Coupe went back this December with 9,500mi. No lie, probably the most unreliable cars ever. And I'm the one that recommended her to BMW. Whoops!
Everything from failed steering racks, to loose HIDs, to Auto-climate system that had a mind of its own, driver seat once broke in the folding position, mud flap came loose, tail light went out twice within 2 weeks, check engine lights randomly went on with no reason, seat belt mechanism that would give you the belt(stupid) would get stuck 7 out of 10 times, etc etc.
And the worst part is that the douchbag BMW service staff looks at you like there is no problem and that your crazy. They have this notion in their heads that they know everything and you know nothing.
I once had the coupe shut die on us while driving and their excuse was that it was the fuel we were using. I ALWAYS put the recommended fuel(premium) and when I let them know that, they said that I should mix Premium fill-ups with Regulars. LoL, what!?
When I braught the car in because of the light problem, I told them that they would shake a little after you would hit a bump. It was a problem that started happening shortly after we picked up the coupe. THEY told me that they didn't see any problem and that it was normal. I told them that I wasn't stupid and that I have owned cars with HIDs and at the time was working at a Porsche/Jaguar/Aston Martin dealership so I KNOW it wasn't normal. After that conversation, I got the car back and the symptoms were gone.
The coupe was returned with a bubble on each tire(POS BF runflats, RE050s)http://forums.automotive.com/70/1100...ems/index.html.
After fighting with BMW/service/BF over the phone over a dozen times and then threatening filing a lawsuit against them, they never sent me a bill.
The past 4 years has open my eyes to BMW alot. You couldn't pay me to drive any of them again. I can go on and on and I'm sure i'll keep remembering things, but I'm going to stop ranting.
Good luck with your 135i, you might need it.

I had a 2000 bmw 325i for 9 year, put on over 150k miles w/o mechnical issues (had to replace the normal wear and tear items, of course)... sorry to hear about your fiancee's BMW horror story
BMW's are strickly lease cars. Too many problems and too expensive to maintain once the warranty is up. I'm sure there are people that have never had any problems but there are many that have had nothing but problems and if the repairs are out of pocket it's very expensive and the cars just don't age well electrically and mechanically. They are great cars which is why most take advantage of the attractive lease rates as you get a great car and don't have to own it after warranty.
I had one minor problem with each the 135 and 335. The 335 had a tire that kept going flat until I had to basically get into a public argument with the service people, and the 135i had a crazy stereo thing where the speakers started popping and screeching like crazy loud. It lasted about 20 minutes and never happened again. Car off and everything. Other than that, they were both solid.
u know how a bunch of M3 owners come off as douchebags? even top gear makes fun of them, but i believe them brits like to call M3 owners *****

now imagine all those guys, double it because the car is cheaper, and them put them on the road... we REALLY dont need that...
the CAR is awesome, the OWNERS are douchebags. obviously not all of them but that is the perception. so much so that it even gets joked about on the best show about cars ever... Top gear!
im actually very excited about the M1 or 135i M or whatever they call it. i myself may get one, despite everyone looking at me like some douchebag...

i was lookin at leasing a E90 M3 but bmw lease cant go lower than 10k miles a year. i drive max like 5k miles a year. couple that with a residual (%) LESS than the regular 3 series and a crap money factor in early 2009 and i simply didnt want to pay that much for a "fun car" that i had to give up in 3 years and be left with nothing.
did it come with a pair of rollerblades?
