The I135 is to the M3 what the Boxster is to the 911.

From what my friend tells me about his 335i... I wouldn't a BMW. He bought his brand new and after 6 months, it was in the shop at BMW for almost 2 months. He was one more problem from reporting a lemon. He couldn't take it and already wanted to sell.

Two really good friends of mine have 335's and they are not happy. They are nice cars and all and they do have power but they are always in the shop. One common problem they both have are wastegate issues. They spend more time in the shop than driving on the road. One of them is now selling his 335 and getting into a IX after I let him drive my car.

I went from a 335i to a IX.
Best choice
Get ready for a ****LOAD of maintenance, and EXPENSIVE repairs if something goes wrong or consistent maintenance isn't done
Don't mod it either. Aftermarket filter will void your warranty for the most part in most places...let alone other crap.
I had a Jp2, Borla Exhaust, Custom DP + TP, Spearco FMIC + Custom Piping, intake, M3 hood, Reiger Lip kit, petrol 19"rims and yeah..
360@thewheel but, blah.

I know tons of people who have had no problems whatsoever with their cars. The evo has a ton of issues too. Anyways, just installed my new wheels, starting to look pretty tasty:-) Once again, S FL is one big flat straightaway.

I agree! LOL! You should have seen her when I first got her without tint, wheels, that ugly chrome grill and rear badging. I was having serious buyers remorse but now I think it looks incredible, in a different sort of way. It was either a stubby, funky looking coupe(135i) or a cracker jack box w an econo interior(evoX).
Gotta love the engine, just like the supra's.

Everything from failed steering racks, to loose HIDs, to Auto-climate system that had a mind of its own, driver seat once broke in the folding position, mud flap came loose, tail light went out twice within 2 weeks, check engine lights randomly went on with no reason, seat belt mechanism that would give you the belt(stupid) would get stuck 7 out of 10 times, etc etc.
And the worst part is that the douchbag BMW service staff looks at you like there is no problem and that your crazy. They have this notion in their heads that they know everything and you know nothing.
I once had the coupe shut die on us while driving and their excuse was that it was the fuel we were using. I ALWAYS put the recommended fuel(premium) and when I let them know that, they said that I should mix Premium fill-ups with Regulars. LoL, what!?
When I braught the car in because of the light problem, I told them that they would shake a little after you would hit a bump. It was a problem that started happening shortly after we picked up the coupe. THEY told me that they didn't see any problem and that it was normal. I told them that I wasn't stupid and that I have owned cars with HIDs and at the time was working at a Porsche/Jaguar/Aston Martin dealership so I KNOW it wasn't normal. After that conversation, I got the car back and the symptoms were gone.
The coupe was returned with a bubble on each tire(POS BF runflats, RE050s)http://forums.automotive.com/70/1100...ems/index.html.
After fighting with BMW/service/BF over the phone over a dozen times and then threatening filing a lawsuit against them, they never sent me a bill.
The past 4 years has open my eyes to BMW alot. You couldn't pay me to drive any of them again. I can go on and on and I'm sure i'll keep remembering things, but I'm going to stop ranting.

Good luck with your 135i, you might need it.
Man, those BFG tires are a bunch of crap. I've got a friend that bought a new 3 series, and had 3 die on him within the first 2 months. He had to take the car in to get some service done, and they gave him a BRAND NEW 3 as a loaner car for the day. Seriously 4 miles on the odometer. He made it half a mile off the dealer lot before he got a flat, then BMW tried to charge him for it. No nails or anything. He hates his BMW so much, and has bought BMW's for years and years. This guy does not hot rod his cars. He bought an 07 Toyota Camry for like $15k before he had the BMW, and he actually misses the Camry.

The engine like a supra? LOL nothing close to a supra engine.
It's not fast.
Its weak as ***** ( block wise)
and not much aftermarket support.

The front end on a 1 series is hideous.
Should have atleast went for the 3 series. I like the wheels though.
I just picked up a 740il the other day Pretty smooth ride. Its boring as hell to drive but better than beating my baby(IX MR SE) with mileage <3

Having 6 cylinders and a two turbos does not a 2JZ-GTE make.

The I135 is great for a lot of reasons, but lets not fool ourselves.
