Cool Test drove an Evo...mind blown.

I was out-of-town doing some training this week and I decided to stop by a local dealership to see if they had a Ralliart. I've been planning to get one for the past few months but I hadn't found one with Recaro seats. So I was simply wanting to see how comfortable they were for me.

Anyway, I get there and find that they have an '08 MR that had only been driven by Mitsu corporate. It's got all the options, and I was awestruck by its beauty. But again, I was only there to try out the Recaro's.

I sat down and was immediately enveloped in their loving embrace. It's like I was sucked right in to become one with the car. Then the salesman offered to let me drive it.

This is where it got good. I come from a '96 Maxima which, for all intents and purposes, is a decent ride. But it's literally half the power of an Evo. So when I stepped on the gas to pull out of the lot, it was like getting punched in the chest. It was $*#*!^$ awesome! It seems like I would get to an intersection, then all of the sudden be a mile down the road wondering how I got there. Powerrrrrrrrrrrr!

Anyway, I'm hoping to be able to swing back down to NC (four hour ride) next weekend and pick her up. My only hesitation was insurance costs, which appear to be $180/month at the lowest (WV sucks). A Ralliart was $150 anyway. So why the hell not?!

180/month for insurance?

Did you go 120MPH in a school zone once or something? Or are you a 12 year old boy with a felony?

24, clean record. A friend of mine who moved here from Florida would have paid $130 for his '05 Scion TC. The cost of insurance here is ridiculous, but not due to any fault of my own. Hell, I pay $100 now for my Maxima, and it's 14 years old...

If his mind is blown from a stock MR, let him savor that feeling for a while... Once he's in the search for more power, its downhill from there. No more affording insurance payments! lol

Just wait til you hit 25, it WILL go down a tick. GL with the purchase. Try to see if you can test drive a GSR for the hell of it, and tell us from a power standpoint how that feels..

Perhaps not much. I'm late 30's and paying $40 less. Better get married for good measure.

Yep. Maxima to Evo is no standard transition...

Hah yeah, I was joking around just yesterday with a friend, saying I was going to go to Vegas and get married the day before I buy. I plan on moving soon anyway, so I shouldn't have to deal with it for too long.
