Snap lift-off oversteer?
Is extreme lift-off over steer normal behavior for the evo?
I was driving my 08 MR on an unfamiliar road around a right-hand blind corner which tightened severely. I stupidly lifted slightly and the back of the car snapped - and I mean snapped - out to the left. There was much tire screech as one or both of the rear wheels locked as the TC tried to straighten the car up. The car has always made a clonking noise, from the back somewhere, when it comes to a halt. I thought it was the battery moving but now I think something is loose back there. (There was definitely something loose in my rear end after this).
Any thoughts?

Snap, lift oversteer is how I totalled my first Evo. I knew about the cars tendencey after owning it for two years. I was going aound a corner too fast and felt the rear wiggle just a bit. I paniced and sharply lifted off the throttle. Big mistake. The rear snapped around and I was in a gaurdrail.
This is what seperates professional drivers from us.
But anyway, lift oversteer is 100% normal for an Evo. It's actually pretty sensative to it and very useful when induced on purpose
