Does your X do this?

Today, I noticed that when listening to the radio, if I adjust either power mirror, everytime the mirror moves, the radio buzzes. Doesn't buzz loud, sounds like background.

I am running aftermarket head unit, but still kinda funny.

During the install of your aftermarket unit, someone spliced a power wire (or more) that is now picking up and "broadcasting" the electromagnetic noise from the motors to the splice point, that's close enough to be picked up by your head unit. It's a pita to stop -- I've never figured out how to build shielding. My attempts usually make it worse, I end up creating a bigger antenna at the splice/interference point.

Curious, did you do the aftermarket unit because you didn't have the SSS/RF package? I thought about doing an aftermarket, and the dash kit that would have been required I thought would have made the dash worse, not to mention the PITA/cost to build a subwoofer enclosure as good as came with the SSS/RF.

Radio? My car has one of those? Why would I ever want to cover up the engine?

But I do have a bit of noise in my stock RF. It's continuous though; doesn't ever change w/ anything. But I seriously hardly ever turn it on. The whole system would be one of the first things I'd pull out if I was interested in a weight reduction.

I have the SSS package, yes. The Scosche kit works good, the Metra was so bad i threw it away. I installed an Eclipse GPS/Bluetooth unit first, but it wont open face with the Scosch kit without modifying the kit, or using it just for iPod (FS $100 btw), so im putting a pioneer in it.

I bought an adapter that uses the factory RF system

I'm getting that same noise (replaced everything except the head unit). Not sure if the stock setup did it?

As for the Dash kits? They all look horrible IMO and really cheapens an already cheap looking interior. I thought about the kits but the stock piece is so much nicer than any of them. Not to mention that I DID NOT want to lose that sliver trim peace that the stock dash-kit has. Too bad the Stock Radio's size isn't really compatible with the Double Din Standard.

Try using a better ground and see if that works

You can get the JDM double din dash if you want factory, but i thought the Schosche unit looked great and matched exactly. The Metra was garbage I can't even believe they sell it.

I used an adapter harness, but I bet I could T-Tap that to another ground, or even just on the chassis somewhere.

I had the same issue with the stock Nav / RF system. It's still there with my aftermarket gear, but I don't adjust the mirrors much, so it's not too much of a concern. I don't have the issue with the windows (except that they deflect the mating surface of the door and cause excessive wind noise).

I hve the SSS package and mine came jacked up from the factory playing nothing but static sometimes. It was hit and miss if it played music or static and was random at best in what decided to trigger the static. After 2 Head units and multiple trips to the dealership, it ended up being a bad amp. Once that was replaced it has worked perfectly.

Not sure if that helps....

I also used to have a familiar sounds with my car and had only used the harness but what i did was run a ground directly to the metal bracket behind the stereo and it fixed it .

Well its a good thing you dont need to adjust your mirrors except once every.... Year?

Unless they get bumped or something of course.

My point, unless you drive around making your mirrors go up in down for fun, I think you will be alright.
