If they are replacing the tie rod ends, get the Whiteline RCA kit

they're not, or I would. and hey sean, since your PM box is full, can you PM me your #? I have a few questions about your suspension/wheels/harness. I'm now at the point where the car has nothing left to give me in the turns so I'm wanting to upgrade all the suspension and tires, and i'm spending half my energy fighting to stay in the seat so I want to harness like what you have. my # is 2146931807 if you want to txt me.

Sent you a PM.

Too bad that your tie rods didn't just happen to need replacing (although the RCA also replaces the ball joints)

Well, initially we thought it was just a rod(i forget which it was, some sort of suspension piece) and the metal undertray for ~$1300. Now, it appears the undertray went up into the oil pan, so I need a new pan plus possibly a new pump and pump assembly. Thats $600 and $400+ for those. So might be looking at ~$2400 for this little mess. :-(

Make sure you take a look at it on the lift yourself, sounds to me like this dealer is taking advantage of you.

Lots of vendors sell the Whiteline RCA kit. I got mine from mike@tougefactory.com in like 2 days.

Were you in Rattle Snake when this happened? The curbing is pretty high in there. It likely wasn't the undertray that hit the pan, but the curbing that went up into the pan if you hit it "just" right.

nope not rattle snake. it was in the wagon wheel actually.. an rx7 dropped some oil and i was coming slightly wide anyway, just got me to drop my tire off and shoot across into the curb on the other side. we were going ccw on the 1.7. I should have noticed i wasn't going to make it and straightened out, but I thought I could squeeze it off. Might have but for the oil, still it was my fault for pushing too hard.

old rule: better to go off straight than sideways.

Too late now, lesson learned, etc.

I went off there backwards 1.7CW my first time out. Pretty scary honestly.
