Im 38, got my gsr last year. the looks we get as an older generation of tunners, is more of a double take. i have given alot of v8 powered muscle cars a run for their money when they thought it was gonna be easy. once you go turbo AWD you never go back.

I'm 28 and have had this car since I was 24. It's not that I feel too old to be driving this car, I just feel like I need at least one "calm" car to drive around if I need to. So if you are feeling like you are too old for your car, just get a luxurious daily driver to ride around in when you are just feeling like having a calm day

I didn't pull the trigger on the Evo X back when I got the 370Z because I wanted to avoid the boy-racer look.. and I ended up getting the Evo afterwards anyways.. I wanted 4 doors and an amazing aftermarket following.. The Z was tiny, 2 seater.. and aftermarket parts were as expensive as modding a Porsche. Ridiciulous.

34 and have no intensions of getting rid of this car anytime soon... have always been into cars and always will be. As for the stares... well, Evo's are not common by any means where I live and besides, I'm HEAVILY tattooed too, so who know's what they are really staring at

The thing is, I look like one of those 19 year olds also(22y/o here) so I get those "your parents bought your car for you huh!?" then I would reply, "I was in Iraq for a year and saved up my money to buy a brand new evo x foo! GTFO " But in respect, not many people my age are responsible with their credit/money/whatever they do with their lives and don't understand how the point system works so they could never get a loan that's anywhere near 2% apr for a car that's 40k. The only reason I got mines was because a CU offered me 3.5% and I think it's good for a 22 year old Plus I have a 5 year old and a 4 year old, wife, house, and everything else probably a 30 year old guy would have by then. I started early tho so I guess I'll enjoy being my age while I still can since I have to play husband/daddy when I'm at home. But I think you can never be too old to drive this car. I agree that the looks you get sometimes are hit/miss from people who truly admire the car and would like to own one to people who just wanna street race.

I don't think age matters on enjoying the Evo. It's a fun car for all ages. Rather, the most important thing is that you are being responsible while driving this car.

Im 32 and had my evo 8 since 2003 new. Its been 8 years now. I feel that I grew up with the car now. Driving it never gets old to me and still I am not bored with it. I am at 400awhp on pump with full exhaust no cat. I dont care who looks at me or why, I have a blast when I floor it so who cares. Why would someone feel more at age driving a 200-300hp mustang rather than a 300hp evo. I want to be that guy when im 60 still driving my evo just like now we see 60 year old guys driving say their 1970 barracuda or chevelle. These cars will be in the past and rare in 30 years.

I have the loudest exhaust straight pipe without cat from AMS; I rev my car like a stupid kid all around my town, and so what? We still have some freedoms left in this country right? It’s my dark side and I love it. It makes me what I’m.

There is no age to have fun. Don’t relate age or body shape with car styles, that's what commercials, put in your mind, the rough guy driving the Harleys and rams and the rich good looking driving BMWs.
My advice: life is only one, enjoy every single second. Do all that you would like to do without hurt anyone and don't be so aware of how do you look. You will always look wrong for someone. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm 32 and around here it seems like only dudes 25-45 drive this car. Over all I'm happy with it. I do want exhaust but I also want something uber quiet or as close to stock as possible. The only reason for this is the ammount of road trips I do and the fact my mother in law doesn't drive (legally blind) so we drive her around lots. If it was any louder or "joltier" or harsher ride. I'd probably want a diffrent car. But I'm happy with it. I used to have a volvo v70R which the mother in law loved riding in. I loved it too but freeking euro trash cars are expensive to maintain. Evos are half the price as a m3 or v70R or merc e55amg to maintain.

Keep the car. Get quieter exhaust, take all the boy racer parts off the body. Get 450hp under the hood and make those 55 year olds in their m3's want your car.

Im 37 may ill turn 38 and i dont feel old for this car, what i did is i removed the rear wing and installed a small wing by rexpeed and im not replacing the wheels leaving them stock. Car looks like a regular car, nothing more agressive then a A4 etc.
If you leave it stock on the outside and remove the wing, you could be 60 and still drive it. Whatever performance mods you do thats your business no one sees them under the hood.
O yes one more thing my exhaust cat back is stock for noise reason. Yes that im to old for. Now theres a couple of companies who have quiet exhaust systems out there and thats on my list as well.

Ouch I'm 45. I put a TBE on for two reasons. One: to hear it better, couldn't take it to a Test-n-Tune without embarassing myself with its quiet exhaust. Two: performance. Running a wide TBE with oversized merge pipe, I picked up 7mph on the 1/4 mile with that exhaust mod alone.

Other than the noise, it does have a racer look, CF hood from CBD looks so sweet on many of the stock OEM paint colors. On apex silver and new aftermarket "Black chrome" wheels, there's a nice semi-racer looking motif going on that kids, old men, and even a wife or two think is pretty sharp looking.

I kinda agree with this. I'm 23, so I don't have this problem, ... but If you put a lip spoiler on instead of a huge wing, keep the catback stock, don't slam it and add a ton of camber, it looks like a regular car.. Nice aftermarket wheels that aren't some gaudy color would look really good too.

But you should drive what makes you happy.

48 here. I love my MR. It's both fast and generally practical both for back road hooning and grocery getting.
