^ I Agree with this guy the wing changes the attention for sure. Not every dip**** wants to race you. I'm 27 and was in the same boat. But every time I take it out I fall back in love. Just keep it or you will probably regret it.

Too old? You crazy

I'm 33. Bought my Evo IX when I was 30. Bought the Evo X when I turned 33.

Are you sure you're not 72??? Those comments should not be coming out your mouth at your age, unless you don't have the feel for the evo anymore. Your age is prime time for a car such as the Evo. Go see a Doctor, you need your brain checked.

If you like your car, who cares what some people think? I have almost ten years on you, and I don't care.

LOL

I'm 55, I do use a rexspeed type c mini spoiler on my VIII, but my wing is poised and ready to bolt on when the whim or need strikes.

The X body style is barely noticeable in daily use (the new lancers guarantee that), are you an accountant or something? (jk ) ... relax and enjoy the privilege of driving an Evo.

I can see where a guy's job might dictate some things--stepping out of an Evo in a business suit or having to pick up a client probably wouldn't fly. Otherwise I don't see it.

This is my first tuner car and I'm 38.

If you're seriously going for 1000hp then that's obviously a drag car and probably not a long-term grocery getter for you.

There is no age limit to owning an Evo. I'm 33 and I bought my X used at the dealership and the lady who owned it before me was in her late 60's and bought it for herself as a retirement gift. She ended up having difficulty with the Recaro's getting in and out or she would have still had it, though I'm glad she doesn't or I wouldn't own it.

i kinda feel what the OP is saying....but when the right time comes im going to get a DD car....i think the EVO would be fun as a weekend or just fun car...part of me is getting tired of driving it all the time...but i love to drive it.

but like i said sometimes i wish i had something that was more quiet and comfortable. but another car can fix that problem.

^ I'm making it into a track car. However, I plan on driving it on the streets.

I am in no way trying to offend any of you guys (those who are older) by saying it's a young persons car. All I'm saying is that the Evo X looks pretty much like a basic sedan out of the box (I have the small spoiler too). Then when I started modding the hell out of this car, it sounds loud as hell and imagine the constant sound of a cam at a red light (the low, high, low, high) noise. You get people everywhere looking not in envy in my opinion, but like "wtf is this ricer doing? He's no Vin Deisel?" There has to be someone out there who feels like he's in my shoes.

I am suprised by the people who are older than me who love there car. Good for you, I really didn't think they marketed the car to people pass the age of 35. It's good to see all ages owning this car.

To the OP: I think you're not old enough for the Evo.

Seriously though, I definitely understand where you're coming from. When I was your age (I'm 34 now), I was more concerned with what people thought of me. I was driving a E36 m3 with no wing, a "mature" vehicle.

When I got my IX, I took off the big wing and put on the smaller wing.

Now on my X, I have the big wing, and I kinda want an APR adjustable wing...

I'm devolving.

Screw what those random douchebags on the street think of you and your car. They can hate you with every cell in their body and what does it matter to you? NOTHING.

It isn't. Some of us thought that a sports car was too irresponsible when we were young -- student loans to pay off, home to buy, home to furnish, etc. Now that I have all of that squared away it's time for some guilt-free fun.

Me too! My last car was a 3-series. Now I want a big Voltex/Varis/APR wing. lol.

The kids say that cops hassle this kind of car but I haven't been pulled over once--save the speeding for the track and I doubt you'll even be noticed. I'm normally in the slow lane on the freeway...
