Am I too old for the Evo?
Perfect. We have the span of three generations: The two oldest are proud to drive their cars and the youngest feels like he's too mature for it.
IIRC, this would make you the oldest on the forum. I graduated in '81; I'm 48 now, so you'd have to be in your mid-70s. Barneyb is in his mid-60, and there's a gent from Australia (who rarely posts) in his early-70. You're it.
Im 38 and i daily drive my rotor glow Lancer GTS and i enjoy it. This is probably my last sports-type car ill ever own, before this i owned an 84 Porsche 944. I will be giving it my daughter when she is in her second year of college in 3 years. after that ill probably pick up an A6 or Q5 or similar luxury vehicle.
first and foremost im a car enthusiast. hopefully ill be one till im very old. drive the car that you love, and dont worry what other people think about think. you live once. enjoy it.
Love of cars knows no age and this car is just amazing at what it does, if you're turning heads you're probably turning them for the right/good reasons and if someone wants to be "disappointed" in you for whatever stupid reason they come up with then that's their problem and their loss. They do get attention from the police though because people tend to hoon in these cars which ruins it for the rest of us. When cops see an evo they'll almost certainly pull it over.
I'm 35 years old with one kid and another on the way. I have had the pleasure of owning/driving a wide variety of cars over the years (from boring to exotic) and the Evo is up there on my list of best bang for the buck. It is my third, or toy, car, but I have actually been using it as more of a daily driver lately as it is just too much fun.
I bought our MR for the wife to haul the kids around. when you're older you really don't care what the badge on the hood is, just if it makes you happy.
I do have alot of teenagers drooling over it tho. others my age don't even know what it is

I just turned 32 last month and have had my Evo for just over 6 months and I absolutely love the car as a daily driver. I could have bought a German car, but I wanted a purpose built driver's car. I've always wanted an Evo and I can't afford a GT3, so now I own one of my dream cars. I don't want to live my life making the "safe" decision all the time, I just want to live my life and be happy now.
You're never too old to be happy.
