Car & Driver April 2010 Issue
as for supercars. i have a crazy theory a lot of it has to do with looks. look at the AWD lambo and the RWD ferrari. ferrari looks more "athletic" while the lambo looks more "brutish".
veyron? huge car. GT-R? huge. R8? huge. etc etc etc. ferrari is RWD for good reason. you cant make an AWD car look like a F430 scuderia due to packaging. and really you dont need it. but again that's not to say if ferrari made a AWD car it'd be slower.
why isnt ferrari turbo either? maybe they choose not to go that route. same can be said about AWD...
Their complaints suck. It's a Mitsubishi. It is NOT a BMW. What the hell were they expecting? I'll admit, $40k is way overpriced. Maybe they were expecting more for the price but jesus, no touch screen navagation? LORD HELP US!
Also, you do realize that the Gallardo is smaller in every dimension than the Ferrari F430? Not sure why you cant make an AWD car look like a F430 when Lambo has a similar looking vehicle with AWD that's smaller? FWIW I think the F430 looks more brutish than the Gallardo.
And who says that adding an AWD system to the Ferrari F430 would change its looks? It wouldn't, the AWD components are inside of the vehicles wheelbase, not outside of it. I'm not sure where that came from?
When Rally cars start using RWD, then I'll believe that RWD is a better platform. But as it stands Rally cars still use AWD, even on the street stages. And if you were to convert the rally cars to RWD (to include less weight for not being AWD) the RWD car would still be slower, and not by a little bit..
Not to go on but if Ferrari claim that if they made an AWD car it would be slower. Then maybe they need to hire the Lambo engineers because the Gallardo LP560 (all wheel drive and all) is faster than the RWD ferrari 430 scuderia.

as for the ferrari/lambo thing, like i said, its a crazy theory i have. i think ferrari puts way more emphasis on style than lambo and if AWD or whatever somehow doesnt fit, they'd just forget about it. we all know ferrari will never make an AWD car so all this is BS anyways.

imo looking at the cross section of both cars, the ferrari is longer and lean whereas the lambo is like short and stocky. wide receiver vs tight end....

I bought my EVO used with 9000 miles on it. After my first service the front pads were marked fair, back ones good. At 21000 miles both were marked poor, and i had squealing. Maybe i just got railroaded by the dealer, but i did need brakes. No hard driving, my car is not modded and it dont track it. One trip to maryland and the rest highway miles to work.
I had to get new pads for all four. I bought my X used with 9000 miles. Replaced pads at 21000 miles, all four. NO BS. Read my prior post. Not modded and not driven like an idiot. I had a G35 prior to this, but a lease, brand new to 30,000 miles and never replaced my pads...maybe it was the prior driver of the X. I dunno. If you need further proof, i will post my receipt that ive been hiding from my fiance..lol
So you got 4 new brake pads or 4 new calipers? 4 rotors?
4 new pads would be normal. New calipers or rotors not so much. Unless I am mistaken the pads on the car are not made by Brembo.

Sorry for my bad knowledge of car parts...the pads were replaced. I will check my receipt later and post the exact wording. The guy said i caught the brakes at the right time because they would have started to cut into the rotors and that i would be in for a suprise if i would have needed new rotors. Either way, those pads were pricey.
no no no. re-read what i said. i said ferrari doesnt need AWD but if they made a car with AWD whose to say that it'd be slower. thats what i meant.
