To hova00: Really inappropriate man. Stuff happens in life and this was an unfortunate accident that happened to him, but its just that an accident. Like you've never had one or are totally perfect?
Never been in one and hopefully never will.

Glad he is ok and it is just a car it can be replaced but plowing into the back of somebody is def his fault and should have been paying more attention.

You would have a different tone if it was you that he ran into the back of.

usually if the agent says it is, it is, even if the company says it isnt later, you can say the agent said it is, and usually they have to go by that or get an E&O claim

I think theres a small chance that it won't be totalled out... depending on their policies and how they value the car.

I work in a collision shop .... its a new car and the cost of repairing the damage is too low vs the cost of paying the bank off(or you the total value of the car). .. your insurance company most likely will pay to fix it ... unless you cracked the engine block too! the damage has to exceed more then 70% of the cars value. sorry dude but good luck!

There was a lot of engine damage, I am sure the engine if not tranny will need to be replaced, as well as a front clip, and the air bags and yadda yadda. I hope for his sake it is totaled

If they opt to fix it, you better bring it to a reputable shop that can straighten the frame "correctly".

If I am correct, its all 1 frame. They would have to do a front clip, and weld it all into place. My VIII got a rear clip, and the shop that did it made it so much better then stock!
