Just received my Works Air Filter..Question about install

Ok i just received my air filter in the mail today and i also have the oil and cleaning kit. Ive used the search engine and read the directions for install, but does anyone know if i have to put any of the oil on the filter straight out the box or is it already oiled? Sorry for the newb question, im learning everyday about my car.

I would think that it would already be oiled. easy check, get a white paper towel and touch the filter lightly with it. See if any oil shows up on the paper towel. K&Ns come oiled already. I guess you could call Works.

i have purchased 2 works filters.

they come pre-oiled.

you only need to oil after washing the filter.

Yes. They're pre-oiled. And once you wash them later on down the road and go to re-apply the oil, don't soak it in oil.. just use a very light misting over the surface of the filter. If you use too much oil, it gets sucked out and gets all over the MAF which causes the car to run horrible and sometimes throw CEL's.

I have the same filter and yes it is pre-oiled, all you have to do is install it. I like the filter to this point just need to get more parts and then a tune.

If it's blue, it's pre-oiled.
