How to go from 23mpg Highway to 29mpg
You can log the LTFT's yourself using Evoscan and openport 2.0. If the LTFT is more than 5% off you need to make adjustments or you could have an exhaust leak preventing the 02 sensor from accurately measuring the A:F ratio...Check for exhaust leaks....should see black soot where there is a leak.
The fact that this started when the CB was installed, tell me, you very well could have a leak...

I doubt that is the problem.
Regardless, you should be able to lean you car out a bit more, even if it is 11.0/1 and not 10.1, you should be able to get away with 11.5.
Thanks Guys!! I'm looking into purchasing a Tactrix Cable. I might also bring it back to the person who tuned it. Seems like my fuel trims are off. and he didn't rescale the MAF. He also didn't seem to adjust the injectors. I'm pissed.
Good luck man, do us a favor and post your findings and MPG after the fix

Since it is just a catback an exhaust leak from that would not affect his AFR's at all, since the sensor's are pre-catback.

Yeah, I thought of that, just wasn't sure what was done during the install (maybe yanked the o2 sensor cable) or maybe spoonie forgot to mention a TP...was just throwing it out there...
At any rate, Spoonie's latest post seems to point to the problem.
I will. But it will be about 3 weeks before I get a tactrix cable.
trip from los angeles -> san diego, my average = ~24.5mpg. evo x mr with aero package. cruise control the whole way @ 72mph.
i have intake / exhaust mods. no tune.
275 width tires, dunlop z1's, @ 35psi cold. -2.4deg front camber, -1.4deg rear.
i would imagine with stock width tires and a tune, the consumption rate would be significantly better. > 26mpg is not hard to imagine.
as a mr with the aero package, it has that huge wing and all the appendages. remove the aero and wing, maybe even 27mpg.
reduce cruise control to 60-65mpg, might add 1-2mpg more, keeping boost at a minimum. 29mpg might actually be possible.

Filled my tank up today. 12.488 gallons, 281.9 miles... it wasn't on the last bar before it shows completely empty, the Evo's tank is also rated at 14.5 gallons, although I don't see how that is possible. I filled it up the same way I always do which is almost letting it spill over... that's 22.57 mpg AVERAGE. at least 35-40% of my driving is around town errands, grocery store, etc.
agreed. reason i haven't is because my rom was not mapped until recently. before i left on a business trip they were working on the data logging. they might be ready now, but i haven't had the time... soon!
