2010 Evo X Tint -scratches?

I got my windows tinted 2 weeks ago. I see that 08 Evo's had tint scratching problems, do the 2010's have the same issue?

My guess is yes. It's like 30bux to get the felt, I think it's worth it so you don't scratch it to hell.

Funny, everyone else talks about scratching, but I don't have that issue. Not on the Evo, nor on my 2009 Lancer GTS.

Just feel the inside lining of the rubber separator between the window and the inside door panel. If it's all rubber, then it will scratch. If it's soft, you'll be fine.

I put the felt "moleskin" on my windows to protect the tint. It worked great.

i know for a fact that they fixed this in the late 2009 model GTS's, so on the 2010 evo my guess is yes they did fix it. to be sure, after you take off your door panel you can just take the plastic part that rubs on the window off and look to see if it's soft or hard plastic. they were supposed to change it to a softer plastic or put felt on it from the factory

YES, they do have the same issue. I had my windows tinted for about 5 months, after those 5 months my tint had streaks the size of canada.. super annoying seeing how it cost me 200 dollars. My fault considering i never installed moleskin. I ended up ripping it off and keeping it with no tint.. It actually looks better too..

Definitely need the felt. It came standard on Aussie spec models after people complained I believe- my 2009 delivered model had it already.

Question Window Tint

What brand did you use? You should probably let you tint installer solve the problem. I also got my evo tinted very recently and I never had problems with the tint. I consulted the expert on tints at www.TintBuyer.com for my window tinting needs, they provided quotations, tint law in every state and locate the best professional tint installer near my area.

this.

*sigh*

always used goo-gone to clean it up. quite annoying.

on top of that my front driver window still scratched. probably from some dust stuck under the felt and the glue holding it in place second time it happened too.
