New stock GSR sputtering at low RPM

I just bought my new evo about a month ago and i love it. The one thing that kinda drives me crazy tho is when im behind someone going 50 mph (around 2000rpm in 5th gear), when i give it some gas and then let off the gas but not completely it tends to spudder. It is really bad when im going up a hill. I dont know if it is the blow off valve or what but i dont know if it is normal. This is my first turbo'd car.

Well 2000 RPM is a bit low, so you simply could be bogging it. Is your problem, a sound, drive line shudder, or something else?

That happened to me too but I was going up a hill and I was around 4000ft elevation (I'm almost at sea level). Only happened on that 1 drive. I figured my RPM's were too low and I just bogged it.

I have no idea if my ecu is updated, the car is only a month old. I hate dealing with dealerships. I never bought a mitsu before but im thinking they arent much better than others.

jackevoX is yours a 2010??? I notice too that sometime my car pulls hard all the way to red line but other times it just kind quits really early (Around 4500 RPM). Its never consistent on a daily drive.

Anyone know any "good" dealerships in western, Pa haha

take it to a dealership to get the most recent flash and any outstanding recall/tsb's

then get a tune from someone respectable...

had the sputter early on. brought my 2010 x gsr to the dealer after 600 miles because of the sputter and they said they looked at it and read all the mitsu documents on their database and didnt see anything. But...when i changed the stock air filter with a k&n it went away.

My evo loves to suck gas so you gotta sometimes baby it haha. I was going to buy a works drop in filter and see if it changed anything. I really wanna get it tuned tho. I hear stock X's run really rich from the manufacture so i wanna to lean it out alil. Anyone know a good place to dyno tune in Western Pa???

For me, this started when Mitsu installed an "updated" flash in late summer 2009 to resolve another tuning issue. Engine always seemed to stumble at transition points a little above 2K RPMs. This was the final straw for me to get the Cobb AP and I have never regretted that purchase. Better power and much smoother for the daily drive.
