What hose is this? --- it fixed my idle

What is the vacuum hose right next to the oil check for? My car started idling rougher than normal so a friend checked it out and saw that the hose had came off. He put it on and BAM, a nice smooth idle. Well today on the highway i decided to get on it and the car kinda hesitated in the upper rpms. I popped the hood and saw that the hose had come off again. I hooked it on, got on it and no hesitation, however, later today i checked and the hose had come off again. What should i use to keep it on there?

Use a small cable tie to hold it in place.

Are you talking about this one?

If so, that's the one that goes to the fuel pressure regulator and if you keep driving with that off at WOT, you'll run lean and it could cause engine failure.

Yeah, zip tie that sucker. It'll keep blowing off if you don't.

I frickin love you guys right now!!!!!!! (No homo) lol when i saw this i literally went outside and discovered that it came off on my car too! No more stallin or stupid insane idle problems! Mitsubishi u bastard!

Could this also caused me to overboost? I had to lower my psi on my MBC to stop my car from overboosting. Im going to drive my car tomorrow morning and see if this was the cause of my troubles all along. Im so happy right now

Damn...these pattern failures are both humorous and predictable. I don't recall any posts about this before, but then all of a sudden, BAM! three of four guys talking about it..add me to the list mine came off a couple of days ago. might be the hot weather/ ambient temps creating a good condition to blow it off.

it boosts irregularly and cuts out at peak tq.

Glad to hear you guys are figuring this out. Luckily I had seen a thread on this right when I bought my car, so I immediately zip-tied it.
