lmao... i would have been in shock.. thats the coolest cop ever

 

Stopped at a road block (cops checking for drunks) one night and I had the woman in the car with me. Cops asks for usual stuff then starts asking me if I like my Evo. There's nobody behind me right now so we sit there in the middle of the road and talk for a minute about cars and how he's had a few fast cars and used to race a little. A second State Police car is sitting on a side road maybe 75ft away and watches as we talk, I assume thinking something is up. Anyways, the cop tells me his wife has a new Lancer but it's slow and asked if the Evo was better. I tell him it's pretty fast and the cops says "why don't you get on it when you go". I give him the WTF look and he quickly says "I'm not going to do anything I swear!". A car pulls up behind me so I oblige the guy and give it a good 0-60-ish run down the road. I thought my fiance was going to have a heart attack! I can't even imagine what the other cop and the people behind me were thinking as I tore off down the road (long straight stretch, kind of out in the country).

I've got a bunch of cop stories but this one is in the top 3 easy.

This morning on the way to work I was going down the highway. As I hit my blinker to get over onto the on ramp of another highway I crossed the solid white line briefly. That's because the other drivers where jerks and wouldn't let me over. I noticed that there was a local cop behind me after I got over, but she never hit her lights. I thought COOL. SO I continue to cruise on the ramp and as soon as I ws about to get back up to highway speed all I see is flashing lights behind me. I was like damn this sucks and now I'm late for work. She comes up to me and says the normal question. "DO you know why I pulled you over" I said no! Then she goes into the story of the white line I crossed and then said "Don't do it anymore". Then she asks if I was a bus driver, because of my uniform and I said no I'm a communications tech. I install and work on your radio system on your cars. She said OH! Well have a nice day and leaves. I think she thought I was one of the police communications tech, but I'm actually another agency's technician. Man that was close. I can't get a ticket, because I have a CDL due to my job. Man that was close. Now I granny the car more.

 

I was with my friend in his STi one night and we were cruising down a 4 lane divided highway. It's 65, but it drops to 55 around a bend and then picks back up. We are going probably 5 over in the right lane, which was the pace of the fair amount of traffic on the road with us. When we got to the bend, everyone else slowed down to take the turn, and we simply didn't as the lane was clear ahead of us. We get about 3/4 of a mile down the road and a cop comes screaming up behind us with his lights and siren on. We pull off into a parking lot and my friend rolls his window down and kills the car. The cop comes storming up to his window, completely pissed off, and starts yelling "do you have any idea how fast you were going!? you could have killed someone!" He slams his clipboard down on the roof of the STi and continues his belligerent tantrum about our recklessness. Meanwhile, his rookie has walked around to the passenger side of the car, but I didn't notice because I was too busy staring at this other idiot in amazement. He starts slapping the window with the back side of his flashlight. I couldn't roll it down because the car was off, so I opened the door. He gets all up in my face with his flashlight on and demands my license. I briefly considered telling him that he doesn't need it, but I obliged thinking that this situation was already bad enough.

They both go back to their car with our papers to write up the ticket. A few minutes later just the cop comes back and the rookie stays in the car. He hands my friend a ticket for 98 in a 55. At this point, my friend is getting pissed off and asks the cop to show him the radar. The cop then hesitates and says that he estimated our speed at 98, and went on to say that he had to do 130 just to catch back up to us so he could pull us over. I told him that he needs to write that the speed was estimated on this ticket, then, which he did very reluctantly. He goes back to the car and they tear out of the parking lot, spinning their tires all the way back onto the highway.

Fast forward a couple months, and you better believe my friend has contested the ticket and is at court with a lawyer. The cop is there too, of course, and they're all waiting on their turn with the judge (I wasn't there). Before they even go in, his lawyer catches the DA, explains the situation, and everything is dropped on the spot. I was kind of upset with him that he didn't push the issue further because of what the cop did with the clipboard (it did scratch his clear coat) and all the unnecessary harassment. Karma has its way, though, because I had explained the incident to my folks a week after it had happened. They just happen to be good church friends with the county sheriff, who they shared the story with probably a week after that. This particular cop was apparently problematic and had numerous complaints against him, and he was let go shortly after my friend's court date.

I didn't intend to write you guys a book, but I wanted to be detailed. I've had my share of run-ins with the law in my car as well. Some of them positive, but most of them are unfortunately not. I have very little respect for traffic cops, but I still understand not all are bad, and I won't pass that judgment unless they make me.

 

third week into owning my evo 8 im going down a road with a posted 55. i was going about 75-80 and didnt see any cops or nothin so i was fine. get about 1/4 mile from my military base and i see lights. i slow down pull over to let him pass, he got me. gets my info everything says he saw me flying by the cars going the same way as me and that he had to do about 95 to catch me. whatever i get a ticket 73 in a 55 (estimated + eventually judge dismissed it). cop asks me where im going in such a hurry im like uhhh i gotta go back to base they called me in blah blah. cop says alright, i understand its a performance vehicle so just try and slow down a little bit.

all the while another cop had pulled up, noticed my tint and went to get his little tester, threw the windows down and didnt hear a word.

i hate cops, there when u dont need em but never around when you do

 

my story is when I was driving my civic. This cop pulled me over for loud exhuast. ( I had the exhuast 8 yrs). Ask me to pop my hood and get out of the car. So i did, next thing I know 4 other cop cars were behind me. total 5. went infront of the car and he said my fuel rail and regulators are illegal, aem cai were illegal and msd were illegal. I told him i have installed those 4yrs ago and have not done anything to the car since. I also showed him the carb stickers on the hood and he was like its illegal now. called his other cop friends and said "this is what we studied last night , watch out for turbos and NOs on this type of cars" i was like dang it, its going to be towed. BUT the cop said "alright you can go now" I was like what about the exhaust and ticket, "He was like just take care of it, no ticket" and they all left. i was about to **** in my pants at that time....

 

lucky you. haha ive had a similar story on my wrx. got pulled over by a cop that had a supercharged 350z and gave me compliments on my wrx and let me go
