electrical gremlins on MR-T?

Bought my '10 MR-T in March and a week later the rain sensing windshield wipers stopped working. I messed with the settings in the center display but nothing worked. Then like a week later they randomly started working again. Everything had been fine since then until last week the automatic lights stopped working. I remember that for two or three days before it broke the halogens would come on in broad daylight and then bam...the whole automatic headlight system is down. I messed with the settings in the center display but nothing seems to change. Is anybody else having issues with random electrical gremlins on their X?

Aren't the rain sensor and light sensor for the lights in the same place right at the base of the windshield? Make sure there's no obstructions, then take it to a dealer.

Yeah, the douche bags will charge you 150 for diagnostics if its known to NOT be a workmanship/quality issue. That's how they roll.

These kind of things are hard. The dealer will run through some tests, and hopefully they can reproduce something. Otherwise they'll tell you to get lost. Good luck getting it resolved.

I don't think the dealer will charge me considering the automatic lights aren't even working. Plus "adjustments" are free for 12 months after the purchase of the car. It should fall into one of the two categories. Thanks for the input guys. I'll let you know what they say.

For anybody having the same issue, it turns out the sensor behind the rear view mirror was busted. Like webman mentioned, the unit controls the rain-sensing wipers and the auto-headlights. Dealership swapped out one from another MR-T to test and everything worked fine. Bad news is that it's a part they'll need to order from Japan and that can take a while.
