remote starter
YEah it's on my new RA (picking it up later this week) supposed to take 2-3 hours for dealer install. 5 pages of instructions apparently. It IS a factory option covered under warranty. $850 installed. A little much in my opinion, since I once had an AutoPage full function 2way LCD Alarm system that could auto start, and shut down, anticar jack feature, and window up/down, with interior temp monitoring... only $450. Took a week to install. I opted for the dealer installed unit guess I'm getting old!
And don't forget with the RA's keyless entry start system, aftermaket systems would prob, much more involved to get it to work. I have heard of having to keep an anextra key hidden in the car etc.
It is not illegal to install a remote start in a standard. Companies have been making product for standards for YEARS.
I installed for 15 years and I never asked anyone to sign a waiver or told them I could not do it. Install it right with the right product and it is just as safe as an install into an automatic.
850 is crazy money. You could get a full featured aftermarket for 500 installed and still have the same warranty as long as it is installed from a reputable place and they use the right product.
