Stealerships may offer it, but its definitely not a Mitsu standard accessory package. It would be aftermarket.

Isn't that just the fact that you don't need to use the actual key when you have the fastkey system?

Well it wouldn't be on the GSR cause it's against the law to have remote start on a manual car...

Makes sense for the MR for obvious reasons..

If they did post it for the GSR.. the probably meant that you wouldn't need an actual key to start the car.

but as far as the stock alarm remote starting HIGHLY doubt it due to legal reasons.

i didn't know it was against the law to have remote start on manual? i thought it just made the installer liable if anything happens when left in gear.

It is not illegal in all states. Check your local laws. Most of my local shops will not work on it if it has remote start and is a manual becaues of the jump issue. And the installer is not liable if you make your car jump into someone elses, a installer will have you sign a waiver because you are disabling a starting safety feature.

I just use my turbo timer.

There is an accessory mitsu remote start available, must tie into the can bus system it is like $631.

"MSRP: $631
Warm up your Lancer in the winter, cool it down in the summer before you get into your car. Available for automatic transmissions only".

YEah it's on my new RA (picking it up later this week) supposed to take 2-3 hours for dealer install. 5 pages of instructions apparently. It IS a factory option covered under warranty. $850 installed. A little much in my opinion, since I once had an AutoPage full function 2way LCD Alarm system that could auto start, and shut down, anticar jack feature, and window up/down, with interior temp monitoring... only $450. Took a week to install. I opted for the dealer installed unit guess I'm getting old!
