Wideband LC1 Installation Help
Wideband LC1 Installation Help
Hi guys i got a wide-band (innovate LC 1) installed in my Evo X a few months back from a very reputable shop (""apparently"") here in Dubai UAE. However the day i got the car i was leaving the country for a few months and didn't have the time to see what all f**k up's had been done to my X. As i drove the car i realized that the wide band readings were messed up and had a feeling that it has not been installed properly and that something or the other is off. Upon close inspection i found out that the rear o2 sensor bolted in the stock cat has been utilized for the signal for the LC1. Also the unit was not calibrated and what not. However now the problem is that i am installing a test pipe and i know that if i re-install the rear o2 in the test pipe in its current state ill get a CEL. So do i need to get a 3rd o2 sensor which is to be primarily used by the LC1 (placed between the rear and the front o2 sensors) ??? Also will i need to re wire the LC 1 for use with the new O2 sensor (3rd one) as the readings are currently from the rear o2. Any help/input from you guys is much appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
For the cel, get a 02 sensor spacer, they work wonders! And for the test pipe ordeal, I know that that exhaust I have had a 3rd 02 bung that is currently sealed. That is where I'm going to run my LC-1 sensor. GL with your problem, hope you get it figured out!
I also have the LC1 and added a third O2 sensor by adding a bung to the downpipe. The other alternative is to replace the front O2 sensor with the wideband and then use the narrowband output from the LC1 to the ECU. I decided to keep the two independent.
Yup that's what i thought so. Ill get vibrant o2 sensor spacer or something like that for the rear O2 however is there any Evo X specific LC1 narrow-band simulation write up? I know that the yellow wire (output 1) is narrow-band and the brown wire (output 2) is the wide-band. However for the narrow-band signal will i have to tap into the ecu harness if so then which wires? Or is it possible to tap into the stock front o2 sensor harness for the signal?
