i ordered an ams intercooler from lightspeed innovation
in canada,on July 07 2010, paid in full and was told it would be two weeks and i would have it in my hands, well today is August 12 2010 and no intercooler, so i finally asked for a refund, and now have to wait another three days before i can get a refund, so i can purchase another intercooler, sometimes i wish i lived in the states, there you can go and pickup the parts from the store as 95 percent of the time they have it in stock, so now i have to find a reputable company to deal with again as i have given up on canadian companies, not only do they charge 2-3 hundred more for parts but then do not deliver in the end,

they're in Ontario
and fyi, in the states you can't just stroll down to the corner auto parts store and pick up an ams intercooler off the shelf
we still gotta order the stuff, too.

Now the dollar is at par I buy all my parts/tires from the US. It simply costs too much to support Canadian businesses. I would be willing to pay slighly more to support local companies but most of the time they aren't even remotely competitive even after paying taxes and duty especially if the US vendor ships USPS because even UPS & FedEx try to make extra $$$ off Canadians.
Agree, I buy all my parts/tires/wheels from the States. Even my local shops advice I should buy all the parts from the States and just have them install for me. I went in to a wheel shop one day and the owner told me he just ordered a set of Enkei GTC01 wheels for his car from tirerack
You think those of us in the US can buy an fmic at a local autoparts store? Umm, not. I live close to MAP and 90% of the time they have the manufacturer drop-ship it from one of their warehouses...relatively little is stocked. I wish I lived in a different state from MAP so I didn't have to pay the state sales taxes. lol!
I've bought a few things from UR and they shipped it pretty quickly from Canada as well.

You can stroll down to ETS and pick up an intercooler in person. But it helps to live in WA state (as I do).
If these CA companies are so expensive and dont deliver, how the heck do they stay in business???? Not trying to say that your wrong, but its very frustrating to see bad companies stay in business so long!!!!!

dont always wish you lived in the states. got the UR dual exit catback and just the fact it came from canada to the states customs held it for a week and then UPS mis-shipped it down to texas when it's supposed to go to the west coast. still dont have it yet. i wont until the 18th and i ordered is on the 4th
I get my stuff shipped to the UPS store in Ogdensburg and then I just drive there. It's about an 1 hour drive and sometimes you get free shipping when you ship to a US address. Then you just have to pay the taxes when crossing the border. No insanely high brokerage fees from UPS.
Yes, I agree Ultimate Racing is a good Canadian company, Darryl is extremely helpful and patient. I got my HKS Bov and UR short ram intake from them. They are just one block down my house. Unfortunately they do not carry a complete line of products.
Ultimate Racing is great but they are eastern canada based. Out west there are no places that manufacture their own parts just resellers.
