My new build/ story behind it.
Lexi, its karl good luck with the build hope all goes well this time.
To all the meth haters, I highly doubt it had anything to do with the meth. He had recently had a good bit of engine work done i.e. cams, springs, retainers, rod bolts and a new tune. Someone along the way may have messed up. His car was out and about for a good time on meth and running 11's with no problems.
When meth is done correctly it works and works well. In example my old dsm http://www.youtube.com/user/BuddyThe.../5/Rq41ZOdWTXw pump/meth 702 whp on a dyno jet and ran for a very long time with no problems what so ever. Dont be so quick to jump on the meth hating band wagon

i have a concern when i see your post I just put rod bolts in my car and head studs and i have not fired it yet my concern is the factory rod bolt specks are something like 15 or 18 # plus 90degrees i double checked with a snapon digital torque wrench and this is 45 plus foot pounds. With the ARP rod bolts there specks are 30 foot pounds? why are Arp bolts recomended 30 #if they are made of a superior metal?I went over this with a friend from these forums that has a phd in some kind of metal science and deals with nuclear grade nuts and bolts and he was also concerened enough even after speaking with arp to tell me if they were his he would most likely take the bolts up in torque till they were closer to there yield point. I chose to take ARP word for it and go with 30 pounds but how many of us are there who have sucsessfully installed these without failure? i would feel better if i knew how many are out there.
don't know if you knew that already.
im in NE philly. half hour drive from both!! I had no idea they had it there! Thanks man!!!!!
45# on ARP rod bolts is quite a bit of over torque I wonder if that is why they failed factory bolts are near 45 pounds but ARP specks are 30 ft# I almost did the same thing now im glad i didnt I bought a set and followed factory torque specks and they were about 45 pounds then after calling ARP i decided to replace them and stick with thier recomendation of 30#. I have been concerened that 30# wouldnt be enough clamping force but im sure they know what they are doing so 30# for me.
