My new build/ story behind it.
Hey everyone. Im new to the forums but not knew to my evo x. I've had the car since may 2008 and wanted to to keep the car close to stock. Well that didnt happen lol. I had full bolt ons on the car by august, Dominator 2.0 and injectors by October, clutch and meth by March 2010. I recently had gsc S2's installed along with, supertech dual vs, retainers, seats, arp head studs and rod bolts. Unfortunatly the car blew up 2 days tune. it was misfiring under load in lower rpms (2-3k). once the car was at 4k in first gear i punched, Missfire-pop clink clank clunk oil everywhere. A rod with a broken rod and rod bolt was sticking out of the oil pan lol. pulled the oil pan off.... no kidding guys its like mashed potatoes. Number 4c exploaded in 10000s of pieces.
Now to the good part.
New setup:
Bushur Racing stage 3 shortblock- 2L.
Head- GSC S2 cams, Supertech dual valvespring, Supertech 1mm over valves, mild port and polish, Titanium seats and retainers, decked and clean of course.
Buschur Racing center diff pins and a fresh act 6puck sprung, heavy duty pressure plate, ACT streetlite flywheel.
Maperformance FPR kit.
FIC 1100 cc injectors.
Omni 4-bar
Primo performance 3.5 inch intake.
Forced performance FP BLACK turbo.
Cooling mist methanol kit, 250 psi pump, 375 cc nozzle (just for a little extra play action on the street)
Car is almost ready as of october 4th. took almost 2month to gether all parts and now comes the fun part of putting the pieces of the puzzle back together. Gotta drop the sub frame and put clean everything up and hope to finish up by the shootout but i highly doubt it
Thats about it for now. I will post pix as the progress goes along. Im shooting for reliable 550whp evo x DD on a mustang dyno

Funny, i had the same problem, only no meth. Mitsu blew it on this toilet of an "Evo" How can they justify a rod out of the block with basic bolt ons...just doesn't happen. Fail fail fail. Going back to a 8-9 asap
x2....or you just happened to have a bad egg...the motor is very stout and is a great design. Go back to the 8/9 if you want, I think they have their own perks for sure, but it shouldn't be because the X's motor isn't good because it is.
it was gay fhow he sent me home and told me my cams were causing the missfire in low end. the review thread with the whole soty is being worked on and info to back it is being gathered!
i didnt have a 8 or a 9 and not going to them (no offense) i love my car and thats final lol. meth has nothing to dow ith the problem. the tune/ the fact that he sent me home with a missfire and told me cams were responsible for it IS!
We were responding to the Evo4U guy not you, lol.
Running perfect!
THe cold weather is making it faster for sure right now, mornings are high 40's low 50's, but i am seeing some knock because of the weather....going to see if I can tune it a little softer or something to get rid of it so I can go to the track later this month!
Regardless, I am all smiles driving now! No more ****ty honda beater
PS...Still haven't tried my track tune (37-38psi) yet, lol, I am scared.

However we have done that with the previous ones and the load on the street matches up almost identical to the load on the dyno. My tuner has tuned my car enough to know how it should react. When the temps reach closer to 55-60 the car pulls fine without knock
