My car is an attention magnet. People at lights are always looking at it. Young people know what it is and sometimes I get waives or thumbs up as well I see lots of older people looking at the car asking their passengers "what kind of car is that?". Not too many wanting to street race outside of the odd WRX or 3-Series BMW. I actually find 08+ STi owners very pedestrian on the street almost like they are ashamed lol.

This happens all the time. It should be an option when we buy the car.

option 2: don't wanna race.

Just ask them straight up "if they are stupid, street racing is for retards and take it to the track", I had to tell one kid this with him and his friend trying to race me and I only had my car for about a month. He drove away looking depressed and embarassed (and I didnt care). I don't got time for tickets and don't want to be responsible for killing a family/person out on the streets.

 

ive only had one car even try to get me to race lol turboed civic....maybe my big front mount scares em lol i wouldnt race anyway

 

i can't remember one time that i street raced someone in the evo or wrx. i usually drive at or under the speed limit and don't even bother looking over when being stalked. i really don't care who's trying to annoy me. i find that if you don't give them the attention they're tying to get out of you, they leave you alone quicker. and they get pissed when they don't see you doing what they "think" you'll do driving an evo.

 

i get about 2-3 Honda a week that wants to race.

 

hmm, i think i lost count of how many hondas, mazda's and vans lol trying to race me, when i pull up next to a nice sti usually just get a thumbs up and thats it, but people act stupid around the car, i had a kid in a van almost run a redlight trying to get me to race him. People need to chill and remmember we are not in the fast and the furious.

 

Just today. A guy in a late '80's accord pulls next to me at a traffic light.

Honda - Hey man, you want to go?

Me - You really think you have a chance man?

Honda - Oh yea, I got a H22A motor in here.

Me - Are you turboed?

Honda - Dont need to be, its fast enough.

Me - I just laugh at him and roll up my window.

He takes off and about half a mile up the road he was pulled over. He seriously thought he could take me. I hope I see him at the track. lol

 

i always get kids in wrx's and what not at the lights revving that their wana have a go i just get the evo on the 2-step and their eyes get big and there stop revving and pull away normally lol

 

When I had my Evo VIII it seemed like I couldnt go a day without someone wanting to race me. I haven't had anyone want to race me since I've had my X.

the real question is whos worse? ricer(civics,wrx's,etc) or any domestic guys lol i just talked to a guy at the bodyshop that was insiting that his tuned G8 v6 lol would beat my evo...i think the domestic guys are worse for sure
