I know we are getting off subject, poor guy is just asking about an X you know? But I have to say something, I just have to. No way in HELL can you compare a Mustang to an Evo in performance. Just because you see Mustangs in Drifting events, and what not, does not mean they are great handleing cars. Yes they are improved, but the Evo has Decades of racing experience backing their car, and I don't mean Oval Racing like ford does. Real hard core, Rally Racing. All I have to say is SHAME on ford for not bringing us the REAL Focus RS to the USA. Now THAT is a ford I would recomend, NOT the mustang.

Again, apologize for getting of point, but dang people if you have never Auto X'd a mustang, vs and evo, just be quiet, I have driven both on a course, you CANNOT compare them AT ALL BOTTOM LINE!!!

Additionally, Get the X you will Love it, The MR Touring is nice I like it, but $45K for a Mitsubishi?? No frickin way. Sorry Get a GSR Bare Bones. $32K and is all you will need. Only bad I have seen so far on the X in a practical Sense is the Trunk is WAY too small for people that actually use it. Other than that, seems to be a real solid car.

So im going start looking for a MR I believe. The EVO X 5sp GSR is in a high rev on the freeway. I want a auto as my Supra is already a 6sp manual and this is going be my new DD.

My supra im keeping for the high tq and straight line and my EVO is for the twistys.

I will have money for mods =) What will I need for 350awhp price/item wise. I love the fact that the EVO looks good without any extra body mods. All I would need is some nice VOLKs and lower it and be done =)

Try to find someone local that can take you out for spin or maybe even let you drive it.

Decided to pass on the evo x. The dealership wouldnt let me take it to a parking lot to toss the suspension around a little to test it. I couldnt get a good feel of the handling, Power is lacking hardcore, not impressed =(. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I dropped by to see if anyone had questions but I get this lol.

Great community if you have these type of guys and from someone who has 50 posts. if you wanna make assumptions like that. BTW financing anything has never been a problem for me 750+ credit score, and I could of payed cash for it as well. I never mentioned anything in this thread with problems with the price or how much I could get it for so good for you if you automatically feel your someone thats in a better spot in life to someone you dont even know like myself.

Financing toys with depreciation values isnt a smart money move anyways. If you really want to throw that comment in.

I asked to go to a parking lot right next to the dealership to do some turning, nothing fast or burn outs or **** like that. You think driving in traffic is the best way to test drive this car? Honestly let me floor it one time with a few turns at a decent speed to feel the G's.

I drove the EVO X SE. Im looking at other options now thanks for the help anyways. Real mature. Im not a forum noob, I am on various other forums please take your fanboy insulting attitude back to Honda forums. This thread was for people to help me be convinced to buy this car.

Everyone else that helped. I appreciate your maturity to a new member on this forum. I wish everyone the best and enjoy your vehicles!

your Post

Well its up to you, I think driving a X SE is not a "real" test drive. To do it right you should have driven a GSR at least. Not the Auto equipped SE. Anyway, seems you really didn't want an Evo anyway. To say its "slow" and you couldn't "tell if it handled good" its just silly. The New X is one of the best handling cars in the world. Every magazine in exhistance agrees with that so why do you doubt it? Cause the dealership wouldn't let you try? Silly.

As for power? You were testing an Automatic version for goodness sake. You shouldn't be hot roding in a new car anyway. It needs to break in. Geeze.

Anyway, bottom line, I dont think you really wanted one. The Evo is the best performane bargain on planet earth. Its not too exspensive, its easily upgradable, and the aftermarket is always growing. A bone stock GSR does 0-6- in 4.9 seconds, the 1/4 in 13.4 and pulls almost 1G on the skidpad. BONE STOCK. Go find another car that can do that for 32K. If you can? BUY IT!!

Take what Drew said here seriously especially if you do not like dudes staring at your car and you or ask you questions even though you do not know them.. If that's the case do not bother with an EVO haha.[/QUOTE]

ha ha I've been known to chat it up with people in evos, and the GF hates it. Just buy it! check out top gear's video review, it should be on youtube. Granted it reviews the evo x FQ vs. the subie, but still, it's kick a double-s

Just go test drive one, and the rest is up for you to decide.

i just can't help but laugh at all the ignorant posts about the new Mustangs. some of you obviously has no idea what you are talking about but have fun in your close mind. of course i am not recommending the mustang over the evo since they are completely different beasts but to say that the mustang is only good in a straight line just shows how little you know about the car.

That's odd. Every time I've gotten the chance to have a dealer let me test a car that is "performance" oriented they have insisted that I toss it around, even if they don't want me flooring it a bunch. Perhaps you should try a different dealer unless you are 150% sure that the Evo X is not your thing... Because missing out on experiencing the handling is missing out on where the X really shines. Really.

Go find a Subaru dealership and drive a 2011 STi. Assuming you are a decent driver, I think you will be thrilled. Going from Supra to X is going to feel really sluggish, it felt sluggish going from 911 to X. The STi may not handle as well as the X, but... well... I picked it for a reason after countless test drives.

Curious as to what else you are looking at and what price range?

Agreed. Especially with all the intelligent posts that were on this forum when the 2011 was first coming out. I'm pretty sure there was a thread dedicated to it's awesomeness. But for those who are still whining... Do you think the E92 M3 is slow too? Read and enjoy: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

Sparknotes version of the road course test:
"That's right, the difference between the fastest laps of the M3 and Mustang GT is, literally, less than an eye blink: 0.09 second, to be exact."

yeah, 4.3 0-60, 0.94g, 12.8 1/4 mile stock, optional brembo brakes and fantastic driver feedback. yeah this car really is a POS and can only go fast straight.

to be honest, i would buy a Mustang GT in a second IF i didn't need 4 doors (i have kids) and i didn't live in New England where it snows a lot.

At had a brief chuckle at the highlighted section.
I understand this is an evo community, but I think you are reaching to say it is one of the best handling cars in the world.
As fot the last part of your arguemnt, a 2011 Mustang GT foots the bill nicely as well.
I will say that the OP should try to find a local with a bolt on and tune car, since the extra power surely will change the initial impression of the car. Any car that traps in the low 100s is going to feel slow if you are used to somehting faster. Its all relative.
