STI's are more rough to drive?

That's a matter of opinion, but I've found the opposite...

If the STI sedan was out when I bought my X I would have probably gone that route...

THOUGH, I love my X...

I was coming from a WRX so I was a bit biased,

It's a matter of preference, as it's said so many times drive both and pick the one you like...

Both are great cars

Test-drove 2011 STI and it didn't do it for me as much as Evo did. Evo is much more precise and I like looks better.

I ordered a 2011 STi hatch on Oct 9th and was told the following week it would be 6 mos. til delivery. WTF! Test drove a 2010 MRT on Monday...and I guess I'm switching forums.

Plus the Mitsu dealer had twelve 2010s and even few 2011s on the lot. Sorry Subie, coming to the dark side.

I still remember when Subaru announced the 2011 STI as the 'fastest STI ever'. So far every single magazine has tested the 2011 STI slower and posting lower skidpad numbers than the 2008-2010 versions they tested in the past. The WRX is essentially just as fast or faster now. If you have to have a Subaru why would you pay all that extra $$$ for the STI? Is the 6-speed and Brembos really worth an extra $9K?

I used to have LCI e90 with sport package. Evo has much better ride comfort and much less body roll. Bimmer used to bounce a bit in the corners on uneven surfaces too. The ride quality was down right punishing on our crappy Cali roads. Made me think twice if it was the right choice to get a sport package...

I kinda love how the 2011 STI sedan turned out. I have driven both, the STI has comfier seats and not-so harsh ride plus steering is not as precise as an evo and especially the 8/9. EVO X is much more fun and modifying it is easier IMO. I'd say visit your local Mitsu/Subaru and take both of em for spin and see which would suit your family needs better.
