08 Evo X GSR retrofit help

Hello everyone, I've always been lurking on here but never posted before but now I need some help. I've finally decided to commit to doing a projector retrofit for my evo x since its depressing to turn on my dinky halogen lights.

I am going to purchase a set of headlights, TSX projectors, HID kit, and some other stuff. My main question is about the shrouds and fitting. I consider myself pretty good with a dremel so I think I can custom fit anything but I want to get some second opinons on what to do.

If I decide to go ahead and get a pair of the E46 shrouds, I am curious on how they will fit and look in the housing because I don't think they are full circle and I don't really want the projector to be exposed. Will these also fit with the tsx projectors? I think e46 shrouds are 3" and the tsx projectors are 2.5 (lemme know if im wrong). Someone experienced please feel free to help

Thanks guys!

Personally,
SSS HL vs Non-SSS HL with E46 shrouds + TSX projectors = SSS HL wins asthetically. Looks so much better

However,
SSS HL vs Non-SSS HL with TSX projectors = Non-SSS / TSX light output.. TSX low beam is wider / more intense than SSS low beam

At the end of the, both projectors do a good enough job at lighting the road at night but you cant beat the look of a SSS HL...

Pix of custom Non-SSS HLs courtesy of Lightwerkz:

There are 2 versions of the Replica E46 shroud:
* Normal &
* Extended (full circle)
If you look closely at some of the Lightwerkz HLs youll see both versions have been used..

Good luck

Ok guys, little update on my status, I ordered an extra set of headlights and the projectors and I recieved the projectors today. However, they are not TSX projectors, they appear to be FX-R replica projectors and I was wondering on your guys imput on them. How do they compare to TSX? Does the fact that its a replica mean they won't be as good as oem FX-35 projectors? Also, they seem to be slightly bigger than TSX projectors and I was wondering if they would fit my headlights. I dont have my pair in yet so I'm going to the pro's here to see what you guys think. Heres a picture of them:

im also looking into retrofits for my RA and i was told that as long as its not bigger than 3" you should be fine without much modification. 2.5" is ideal though, i beleive the FX is 3".
