2010 resale value??

With the 2010 Evo X models being so new, not many have been put for sale used this year. Since I was in the market for a new GTR, I went to the stealer ship and they had no clue what to offer me on the trade in. After an hour, they came back to me with an insane "low ball" offer of $26,000. That $12,000 less than what the sticker was only a few months ago when I bought my Evo X. Their response was "since there is no current market value set on the current 2010, since its so new, we only can get an apporximated price on the few 2010 Evo X's that were sold via auction". I was like, that's horse *hit. But thanks anyway. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

You could see the FS area here - give you a good idea of what the market value is on the X. You are going to take a hit. Just how much is the question. 26-28k seems about right. Not going to get sticker back.

They all only offer auction value.
Your only hope is to find a dealership that sells Mitsu and Nissan that wants your Evo and would be somewhat empathetic to the cause.

+1. I couldn't see them offering over 28.5k or something around there. You can still buy a new 2010 w/ SSS for like 32k from South Coast. Awesome if you want to buy one. Sucks if you are selling a used one.

I just bought a used Evo X (SSS) with 14k miles at a Lexus dealership for $28,000. They said they got it in as a trade. I would have to assume they wouldn't have given the guy trading it more than $24,000 for it, in order for it to even be worth their time.

I've always been told, when buying a NEW car, the moment you drive it off the dealership lot, you instantly lose 15% of the cars value. Thats why I always buy with 10k-20k miles on my cars, with a transferable warranty. (Not that I left my Evo stock for more than a week.)

Trade it in when you buy the GTR or sell it privately for about 28-29k

There's no way I would take that big of a hit from the stealership. I dont have the regular SSS package. I have the SSS with aero/navi options. Thats $4k over the regular SSS. I wouldnt sell for less than $30K. Since there are no real numbers for the dealers to work with (except random auctions), I may just hold on to the Evo a couple of more months until there is a "actual market value" to work with.

hate to be the one to tell you but the AMV wont be much higher than 28k in a few months.

2008 EVO X MRs with less than 25k miles have sold for as low as 28-30k

evo x gsrs with less than 20k miles have gone as low as 23,500. but typically sell around 25k-26k

Surely the 2010s will follow the same trend...as the 2008 resale values have set the bar for the 2010s (not like mitsubishis resale value has been known to be good)

just to give you an idea. i know you have navi but honestly that adds like 500 to the price considering they are easy to come by for around 1k for the entire setup.

that dealership is asking 31k... probably have their reserve at 29500.

you figure how ever they acquired the vehicle they didnt pay more than 26k for it....probably more like 24-25900

thats where the dealer got the 26k figure...also notice how no one has jumped out and bought it (believe this is the 2nd time its been listed @ this price) theres your AMV...

Damn...! That shiet really sucks... It's not like it's 2010s base model either... I believe your best bet is selling it as a private seller as oppose to trading it in.

Just consider this. If you get 26,500 trade or if you sell it for 28,000 privately based on a 7% intrest rate you will save 1855 on your taxes so it will be the equivilent of selling your car privately for 28,355 because of the tax break. Just food for thought.

For 26k, that's OKAY I guess... I just traded my 2010 RA sportback (<7k miles) in for $22k which I paid $31k without taxes... So, Yes, we should expect to loss a LOT $$ but we also should be enjoying our new Ride a LOT MORE LOL. Mine is new SE and in ur case: on man, GTR is AWESOME!!!

I'll chime in. I'm going though this process right now.

Private Value:
I have 4 people in line to buy my car @ $29,000; sale currently pending. Almost zero interest at my initial asking price of $31,000.

Dealer Purchase:
Went to the local Honda dealer and they offered me $28,000

Car Details:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...w-gsr-sss.html
Stickered for $36,500
