I went out with my buddies yesterday and asked them if it was worth it to trade my STi for the Evo X and everyone of them told me "no". they all said the STi looks better than the Evo X in person and STi are much more rare especially the 2011. It also holds better resale value .

One of my friend suggest using the money I will lose on the trade to buy myself a motorcycle lol. I thought about it and it seems I'll be buying a bike instead of the trade or using that money and go stage 2.

I would like to thank everyone for the awesome comments.

Here is my 2 cents!! I was in kind of in the same boat u r in right now. I bought a 08 AW STI while the fire sale was going on $7K off MSRP 0% for 63 months, etc. I got a killer deal on the STI, but after owning a 05 MR and previous to the 08 STI, I had a 07 STI as well. Well, after a few months of owning the GR STI I was just having buyers remorse big time. I missed the feel, sounds, the seats, etc of the EVO. I really felt like I should have bought a 08 EVO instead, but at the time Mitsu didnt have all the incentives and the 0% that SOA was offering. Well this April, I searched and found my WW GSR/SSS in St.Louis, and spent the whole day doing the deal over the internet, haggling over my trade-in value sight unseen for my STI. I ended up getting 26,500 for the STI($1400 in equity) and getting the EVO for $750 below invoice. I ended up walking out with the EVO for $32,700 OTD! It ended up being a fairly good deal since I saved almost 2k in taxes. You prob can do a decent deal if u find the right dlr, and assuming ur not way upside dwn on your STI. I say get what u really want!! I have been totally happy with my 2010 EVO!! Best of bunch I have had so far!!

Your buddies didn't help. Even my wife (before the purchase) was a non-fan of the STI looks. EVERYONE loves the Evo look, old and young alike. But your decision on the addl toy doesn't sound bad. It's all good!

I don't know why he would be that disappointed with the STI as it at least handles better than the 08-10 models. The EVO is the better performance car but still they aren't miles apart in the performance department.

Does it have 'quick steer'?

I think that is the fundamental difference between an Evo and ALL other cars I've driven. The most connected part (steering wheel) is fundamentally different in how it works the car. It's just insanity!

They never do. Most "friends" will C.B. any major purchase, particularly automotive ones. I've witnessed it dozens of times.

A real friend would've told you to do it if that's what will make you happy.

Just for fun read this disappointing review of the 2011 STi:

Hot garbage.

Honestly it's okay but essentially the same car as 2004-2007 except for the new Toyota Corolla body shell.

Should i sell my car or trade my 2011 STi for a 2010 EVO X, since there are good deals right now...I know I'll be losing money on the STi but if I can get the dealer to give me a good trade in value I'm game.

I should've just went for the EVO X in the first place and not have this heartache >.<....I choosed the STi for the 6 spd gearbox but after all it wasn't worth it ..

I'll be going for a wicked white GSR because I like having three pedals...any advice if I should trade or keep?

What is the difference between the 2? If the 2011 STi is better than 2010 EVO X. I think you should keep for the 2011 STi.

Wink

Thanks everyone for their advice....I feel in love with the Evo X and took a small hit when I traded my STi for it but I felt I also was able to negotiate a good deal.

I got a 2011 Evo X fully loaded with nav, aero and ss for 36.2 OTD.

Bye bye STi....gone but will be missed!

I love my Evo X and will drive it with the biggest smile on my face everyday!

God my new Evo destroys the STi in driving experience. This car feels like it's worth every penny I paid for while I felt the STi was a waste of money to be paying for. The STi is not a bad car, I loved it but I just didn't get the same excitement when I drove it. So LONG STi I will think of you, hopefully your new owner treated you as good as me.

The dealer even threw in a free Evolution license plate frame for the rear lol...I I'm not sure if I was ripped off and they were being nice or if I got them to be on their happy side. The front was not drilled and I will never put on a front plate .... I don't see any vettes with front plate nor the 370Z hehehe..

GOD I LOVE MY EVO X!!!!!! Lol had to say it....

I'm thinking the dealer was happy as a clam that you ditched a BRAND NEW STi in favor of their product wares. I think you made a good choice. The Evo not only looks sharper, crisper and FASTER; the driving experience is really what you learn to love.

I'll second you: GOD I LOVE MY EVO X TOO!!!!! I say it often, had it for 2 1/2 years and still keep falling more in love with it every time I drive it.
