Should i get a DP or FMIC?

Hey guys,

Well im currently waiting to get my car back from the shop (clutch) and have been thinking on which mods to get next. My mods at this moment are only a drop in/turbo inlet with a gunzo reflash. Within the end of this month ill be buying the Speed Circuit Test Pipe and the Magnaflow exhaust (a 3" pipe/flage will be welded on to replace the bottle neck). After this, should i get the AMS downpipe (stock turbo) or should i spend the money on a bigger FMIC/UICP and maybe a LICP? Which is the money going to be better spent on for power?

My power goals are currently planned at 320-350whp with bolt-ons and 93oct stock turbo. LATER down the road, i will plan on going with a bigger turbo. Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you have to pick just one, I say the FMIC will show larger gains on the stock turbo. I personally opted for both though:
-prototype MAP FMIC (largest core on the market)
-MAP o2 elim downpipe (divorced wastegate, less turbulence than AMS' bell-mouth)

Hold off til you get the larger turbo for the o2 DP. This way you will save time and money on the PITA install and on a stock turbo you wont really realize much from the DP than an intercooler.

Additionally I see you live in Houston. I assume it is much warmer there than in NYC, so your car's general performance would benefit from lower IAT.

I actually plan on getting a FMIC before I get a downpipe/turbo back. I know this usually backwards but I enjoy how quite my car is currently and living in SoCal where it is hot 90% of the year I think I would have some real benefits of upgrading the FMIC. Eventually I'll get an AMS dp, tp and tomie ti cb

Well, the plan is that im getting a tune once i get the test pipe and CBE anyways, so i mine as well get either a FMIC or a DP so i can just save money and have it done all at once..If i dont get a DP, i probably wont get one till i upgrade the turbo and either way, im going to need a bigger FMIC anyways right?? What do you think about an aftermarket FMIC with stock piping, pointless?

Not pointless but hard piping would be a good upgrade while your in there if you can afford it. Im not sure on the Xs but have read that the LICP is the real upgrade on the 8/9s and not so much of a upgrade for the UICP
