Only because it was the first snow fall and I was still on the stock(worn out) tires.........

The car has amazing traction even on those bald tires......stopping was kind of hard however.

i wouldn't worry much, because it will take 15-20 years for a modern car to start showing rust signs
I find rust prevention slows down the process and at the very least keeps nuts/bolts from becoming totally rusted solid....it extends the life for sure.

No one knows what we will be driving in 15/20 years time......enjoy them now folks.

Even though this one is 16 years old,she is doing winter duty to......

Too much fun to park!

I also have a winter dilemma. Looking to buy a new Evo X within the next month but with winter fast approaching in Chicago I may have to wait. I park my car outside and I don't want to put a brand new car through a rough winter.

Anyone park their cars outside for winter? Notice any significant wear and tear?

You all are lucky to get snow to play in with your evos. I say enjoy it. It has snowed once in the four years I have my evo. I was in parking lots and empty industrial areas all day. I hope every year it snows and I get let down.

The only thing you should store for the winter are your summer tires. Buy some winter tires, slap em on and see what it means to use an evo for what it was made

Sure there's wear and tear. Come out in the morning to find a new scratch, or better yet, a sideview mirror hanging by its wires. Been there.

The snow is not the issue. It's the salt.

OTOH, if folks don't plan to keep their cars, by all means drive them in whatever you wish. If you do want to keep the car, salt definitely won't help. Just a couple of weeks ago I had a good look at an Evo that was driven in salt for the last 5 winters. You guys should see what the engine bay looked like as well as the undercarriage. The car was torn down and all the damage was right there. Hell, there are a few 03-04 Evos in our area (driven in salt) that show bubbling under the paint above/next to the rear wheel well. Sure, modern cars won't show rust for 15 years in a perfect world, but that's not where some of us live.

Have to disagree. Storing a car in a garage where temperatures go over and under freezing constantly will result in moisture in the tank. It will rust. Keeping it full, and with fuel stab prevents that from happening.

Yeah. I may just wait for spring then. I don't want to get a brand new car and have it get messed up. Plus I plan on moving somewhere with a garage in the summer so I might just hold out. The anticipation is killing me though.

Haha I know. Who knows? Maybe I'll lose patience and just pull the trigger a littler early.

If it snowed here my car would have a high sodium diet I guess.
