Top Gear USA Episode 2 - Evo X
It's been two episodes now...
I find it retarded that after 2 episodes there are people that are already hating on it. First off, we're damn lucky as enthusiasts to actually have a show about cars that doesn't suck and spread stereotypes left and right. Secondly, IT'S BEEN TWO EPISODES.... Think the British boys had their "chemistry" all figured out within the first two shows? No.
All in all, I really enjoyed the whole show, but more importantly, so did my girlfriend.

Its the cinematography that's severely lacking with this show. BBC's editing and trying to not only make it about the cars but the passion involved are FTW. This show has tons potential and I can see the chemistry building with the characters but History channels editing makes it feel just like all the other History channel programs. Where's the passion H? Please buy some better Cameras while you're at it...
The ep was awesome. Love to see the X on tv (specially a red one lol).
Will agree with some of the peeps above:
1. They need better editing/cameras. I love how the British one seams crazy HD
2. They need a Jeremy Clarkson attitude in the show

what the show needs is Tim Allen.
Last nights episode was a lot better, but they need to get rid of MoleMan. Tanner and FlannelMan are okay.
I wish they had shown the EVO's lap. They really really really need to get better Stig introductions though. The EVO segment was good, but I hated the way he just glossed over all the technical specs and history of the EVO. Nobody knows what these cars are, or what they are about, so when there's a chance to get that info out there, i'd prefer that it's utilized instead of just saying stuff like computers figure it out...it's magic.

The British Top Gear did the exact same stunt of Skiers racing a car down a mountain, except Jeremy Clarkson was driving an Audi RS6 and the skiers used parachutes and won... So quite a knock off challenge of one done by the Brits.
So it's not hard to see how any show would improve over time, from a first episode to newer ones (anyone watch the Daily Show with the first Jon Stewart version????).
However, short of a Jon Stewart style irreverence, the US viewing public (i.e., Dances with the Stars and American Idol as top shows), anything that's not wimpy politically correct and flaccid will get flamed by the pol pundits here -- have you heard some of the outrageous stuff by Clarkson??? -- they're out of control, and tend to see things as jingoistic as possible with their blantant bias and own intent for a slant on everything that's not PC.
Jeremy has no future in the weak appetites of American viewers. While EvoM folks could handle political incorrectness, typical cable subscribers would hate it, and FoxNews/MSNBC would find cause to become watchers, only so they too could become haters.
IMO

This is the problem with all the talking heads here. What would you rather watch? More reruns of pinks, or those redneck car repair shows on SPIKE, be glad there is something to watch while UK TopGear is on hiatus, jeez.
