I like Tanner and I think if he gets a little more comfortable in front of the camera, he can really be the shows star. The other two really do nothing for me so far. We'll see how the show develops as the season goes on.

Never knew there were so many elitists on EvoM.

You haters should drive BMWs and Porsches based on how smug and demanding you seem.

I'd bet the farm that most of you still live at home and haven't accomplished much of anything, at the very least hosted a television show.

Tanner gets paid to drive for a living... if that isn't something to brag about I don't know what is.

lolumadbro?

Pretty sure nobody was making personal attacks at anyone, just stating that these guys suck as TV hosts and the show has none of the charm of the BBC version. Top Gear(BBC) is one of my gf's favorite shows and she doesn't even like cars... it's just an entertaining show.

I feel bad for them tbh, they have ALOT to live up to and theres no way top gear USA could be even close to the BBC show. That has more to do with the BBC show being perfect than this show being terrible.

+1. My favorite part of the shows has been when Tanner was driving and nobody was talking.

The Evo stacked up really well against the competition considering it was stock and was under 2 seconds slower than the Aston. Just a tune would have made it running near the higher end exotics that were leading the pack. The bearded guy that was driving the Aston was beyond boring in my opinion though. I'd rather just see Tanner driving the hell out of the cars and the other two do little to no talking.

The program isn't funny, it's not clever or interesting, but it does manage to recycle the gags done by the Brits years ago.

It's one thing to dumb down the show, but making the viewer feels stupid for watching it is another matter entirely.
you actually LIKE MoleMan???? he contributes NOTHING to the show, and he can't drive for ****.

these hosts aren't working for top gear, if the show was fifth gear, it'd work... even then, they don't quite stack up

i mean look at the lambo test from last week, all they did was tell you the exact name of the car, what every letter/number meant, and then read off some specs... top gear's (bbc's version) priority is entertainment, cars is a secondary, thats why the show is successfull with every demographic (385 million viewers world wide) not just car nuts...

tanner would have made a good stig, not a host

He's witty and he has genuine enthusiasm for the subject matter.

Great episode! I too instantly thought of EVO! when they were naming what they wanted in a complete car.

My opinion is Adam needs to step his game up...Tanner has great on screen presence as he's been in the spotlight in the past and it shows. No comment on Rutledge Wood but hopefully as the show moves forward he won't be so awkward haha!

^rutledge's review of the aston was one of the stupidest i've seen. he would have been better off just reading off the specs like they all did in the lambo test. i mean seriously? the speedo? all cars have a speedo that goes above the top speed, get over it... then his commentary when he was sliding around the dry lake bed: siiidewaysss. wow, thats original...

i don't think its that he's awkward in front of the camera, he just doens't have anything entertaining or original to say... at least tanner can make his driving entertaining to make up for the lack of personality.

which two episodes did you watch? lol If they hadn't said before that he was a comedian, I never would have been able to tell from what I've seen. He's dumb as a rock, and not funny at all. obvious, corny commentary. I've never seen him look especially enthusiastic. he's the stiffest, most out of place of the bunch. he's the only one that I find myself wanting to punch in the face everytime he opens his mouth.

I dunno, I guess we just see different things when we watch the show.

I agree. I didn't like Tanner's review of the EVO at all. He didn't give any technical specs on it or talk about it's rally history or anything. his driving did make up for it though.

we want entertainment, and so far there hasn't been any commentary on topgear usa that provided any entertainment. sure they had a couple witty comments about drifting... but thats pretty much the peak, which really says how far the show still has to go... i mean i'm not expecting it to be as good at the uk show, but at least some entertainment value that comes from the hosts' mouthes
