That scene was done twice in the British Version. They raced an Evo 6 with spike wheels vs. a bobsled and I believe Jeremy Clarkson raced two guys down a mountain as well. It seems forced but I guess it is because we know the British version so well. I hate the forced chemistry and dialog between the hosts.

It's interesting you mention this. I think the Australian show is very good. The Russian one is even better, though, one has to speak Russian to get the jokes.

If Ryan can present a television program with some competence, if he can gather his wit to respond instantly in an entertaining manner, and if he gets another 20 years of life experience under his belt, why not?

I didn't think the russian was all that entertaining, I really couldn't bring myself to watch more than 3 episodes. the only funny part to me was how they were speaking russian, its been a while since I heard so much russian at once trying to sound all hip and whatnot... kinda hard to explain...

I don't really see why he needs to be 20 years older, but i agree with you on the rest. i personally havent seen anything from ryan that would make him a good presenter. imho, if he was on there, we'd just have 2 tanner's

Do you speak Russian fluently, as in native? Those guys crack me up, especially when they deal with the cultural elements vis-a-vis the automobile.

As I said, life experience. You know the clever plays on words we all love, the obscure references, etc. Well, those don't arrive overnight. One need time on this planet to gather the information, if you will. There's also a matter of perspective.

Yeah, Russian is my native language, moved here from Belarus when I was 6. Can't really say that I'm fluent, I have a hard time speaking in Russian without throwing in a few English words here and there. Just figured out how hard it is for me recently when my parents had some guy from Russia visiting that didnt speak a word of English. But pretty much all of my friends are still Russian.

I guess I see your point to where an older host would bring more to the table...

I HATE the aussie version. I think that one is just as bad, if not possibly worse, than the american version. the hosts are terrible.

Privet! I came to the US at the age of 12. Speech-wise, my Russian is pretty good, no accent, but a distinct lack of available vocabulary. Interestingly enough, when I watch the Russian TG I can understand everything that's said, but I couldn't repeat the phrasing if my life depended on it. I almost never get a chance to speak the language, though. It's been years.

<grin> Old? We're not talking about resurrecting Henny Youngman.

There's no way they had the stock Advans on. Even Mitsu says not to use them in the winter (ie. sticker on our door). curious as to what tires they did run though.

How would a Ralliart handle the same course? I guess it can't take the corners with the same confidence but what about the snow? I havn't tried that thick snow and I'm lowered on Swift's aswell.
