Tanner definitely fits in the show.. He's a beast! Drives well and he knows what he;s talking about and it doesnt sound scripted at all.. but, like someone already mentioned in this thread earlier, the other two has to go! Other than that so far so good! Blind man trying to drift was GREAT! I was lmfao when the blind guys dog pissed on stage @ the end of the show! Classic!

Who should replace the other two **** faces?!?

+2. Although his ad-libbing during his driving was far and away his and the shows best content for entertainment value. If he can be that comfortable while NOT driving, he'll be fine.

I keep seeing a lot of "votes" for Jay Leno, natural car guy, not afraid of the camera. I don't know who would be car saavy and stodgy enough to be Clarkson. Newman would have been good, that style of "cool". Newsies in the US aren't very good at the men doing men things stereotype. Tom Cruise however, could be a wild as$ suggestion. Did y'all see his UK appearance at the track. DAM!

I wish but Top Gear can afford Leno! LOL.. Tom Cruise when two wheel drive and almost got himself killed trying to beat the best time, which he did! Classic..
My "vote" would be..
That chick from Overhauling, not the new one but the original chick! I forgot her name.
And.. there should be a contest, Like "American Idol" for Top Gear! LOL

Change the whole cast !!! or the show will die, unfortunately

They need a comedian but not ferrara. Except that one scene with the lambo when he switch gears and said f^&* on every change was pretty funny

they need a driver just not Tanner. The BBC Top gear is FUN to watch because there is a personality to the hosts but Tanner is just FLAT. Very monotone voice

The Rutledge guy is whatever, but I think they need to just get a new cast before the show is cancelled due to MONOTONE VOICE frenzy

The interviews are just painful to watch....no emotion

Oh well good luck

Do folks know how the films on the UK TG are shot? The guys go out with a crew, try to be witty and interesting all day via their interactions, and then the whole mess is edited into what we see. It doesn't seem like we shoot/direct the show the same way. Everything looks forced. Really, we, Americans, hold a patent on the impossible. Think how difficult it is to make a subject as exciting as automobiles seem dull. Motorweek has been boring us for ~30 years and now the TG franchise is joining the team. Yay.

yeah i loved that they had the evo on...I agree Tanner seems to be the best of the three. At least he doesn't keep playing pocket pool like the other two hosts. they need to get their hands outta their pockets!!

It seems like the 2nd episode of the American Top Gear was a lot better do to the fact that it had an Evo on it. Personally I think the American version is so horribly wrong. The host has no character at all. The fatty host (Jeremy Clarkson wanna be) was so mono tone, and they all seriously show no enthusiasm at all. Watching the American Top Gear is like watching an episode of, "Win Ben Stein's Money". But it was just that much better with the Evo on it.

Great episode! And I was shocked at the time too. I figured it would have done better than a RWD luxury touring car even if it did have a V12 . I've seen Evo X's with just springs and basic bolt ons kick the crap out of audi R8's and the such.

As far as comparing it to the british cast they just need time for they're personalities to come out. If you've seen the aussie version its close to the same thing, but your not going to have a captain slow, a richard hammond, or a jeremy clarkson personality come out of these guys. Although Foust does seem like hes taking on a Hammond personality . Personally I like ferrera and think he can do a good job as the "main" host like Clarkson. And guys look back at the first episodes of top gear when it first started it wasn't as witty as it is now. They need to get comfortable with each other and in front of the camera. Also this isn't Foust's first time in front of a camera. Look at Supercar Exposed. He does an OK job solo. Plus I've met him as I'm sure some of you have at either a rally event or Formula D event and hes one of the nicest most personably guys in racing I've met thus far. I mean hell I met him 3 years in a row at Formula D in Atlanta and he even went as far as to say "You look really familar I think I met you last year." Whether it was just a BS line or not it shows me his willingness to try.
