Has anyone put an evo IX steering wheel in an evo X?

***im sorry the title says in an 8, but i meant on an evo X***

has anyone ever try this yet? something about the evo x wheel is just unappealing to me. dont get me wrong, the steering wheel controls are convenient but the wheel just makes the car so much less of a sports car. i thought about an aftermarket steering wheel, but im not sure how i feel about the loss of the airbag.

Hmmm I just couldn't see my self replacing my x steering wheel with the 9. Your loosing the wheel controls plus safety. I'm sure if you really wanted to it could be done some how, but probably more trouble than what its worth if you ask me. just my 2cents

I hate the fact that the leather on the X's steering wheel scuffs and scratches really easily. Love the wheel on my IX. Nice, small, & to the point.

yea wwixmr i agree, its a sports car and i think the steering wheel just doesnt give that feel u know, just bulky and too busy. im sure the cruise control can be relocated elsewhere and probably even the radio controls although its not that big of a deal for me.

I would make the switch. I loved the Momo in my IX and the X the leather is worse and the feel is just...meh.

the steering wheel of the X is HUGE, i don't know what some of the people in this thread are talking about. You need to jump inside a RSX or S2K, those are what I called small and sporty...they are beefy to the grip yet small. One of the reasons I miss my rsx

This would be a nice looking wheel for the X if it was possible to retrofit(not sure if it is). Momo wheel + Airbag = Win.
Of course, the emblem would have to be gone...

The X wheel is huge? Go drive a 3000GT and complain about huge steering wheels.

I to don't care so much for the steering wheel, and the controls are terrible. I was trying to thinking of a way reroute the cruise control and audio controls but I kinda gave up.

The lotus wheels looks nice but the Audi RS6 is hands down my fav.

I like the X steering wheel. it didn't feel any bigger than my IX steering wheel when I drove one. If the leather isn't to your liking, why not just get it recovered instead of going through all the trouble/expense of trying to retrofit something else.
