Non OEM Hand Brake

Has anyone put a Non-OEM Hand Brake on their Evo X? I am looking at a Momo Universal Hand Brake to replace the crappy stock handle and wanted to know if it would fit. And has anyone added a boot to their handbrake?

I have the solid AL handbrake too, it's nice. The only downsides are that it can get nicked up by the seat belt buckle (steel vs. AL,) and of course the price.
