Transfer Case Issue
Well everytime i parked in my drive way i was leaking oil at first I didnt think it was me because my car is new and after I parked in my garage, I knew I was leaking oil. So I took it to my mechanic to get it checked out and thats how I found out. No signs at all with the leak.
its weird that south coast would ask you about mod issues...
they are like the only dealership i know that are completely mod friendly...
what happened to rigo..i thought he was the service manager?
anyways to the op...sucks that ur tc is ruined...hell it could be as simple as the bolt on the drain plug (i hope)..anyways keep us updated...good luck

I recently had the t-case on my evoVIII start whining at me. only 39k miles but out of warranty none the less. DG Motors is taking care of it for me and having Dogbox racing do the build on the transfer case. WAY cheeper than a new one through mitsubishi and it'll be stronger now aswell.
My 2010 X with 15k miles has white smoke coming from behind the turbo around the downpipe area, and it smells after I drive it. I THINK it's coming from the t-case, but it's at the dealership now getting serviced. I'll find out soon enough where the leak is coming from since it's def something leaking into the hot exhaust manifold. I know warranty laws are diff in NJ then that of Cali, so I'm hoping the warranty covers it, I've got a few mods on but they are just basic bolt ons.
Had my Evo X in for an unrelated issue and mentioned a bearing whine in the gearbox. Had the twit service manager at Ron Marhofer Mitsubishi claim that my Swift springs would void the warranty because they changed the angle of the driveshafts. We all know the Swift springs are a VERY slight drop. Stick a couple of fat guys in the car on stock springs and it drops more. I told him even if his fantasy were true that it would only apply to the transfer case not the gearbox. Final note, I slammed the twit in the customer service phone survey and took the car to another dealer to repair the gearbox.

Very happy and excited that I got my baby back. The dealership replaced the defective TC.
