E85 would be later. I don't mind revising from 1000cc to 1100cc for a little extra insurance. I would definitely keep stock fuel pump for now.

I'm accustomed to Dyno Dynamics, which reads lowest of all. My car made 222whp stock, I'd like to see 340whp on 93. I'd guess that would be about 385whp Dynojet.

Unsure on Green vs. BBX Lite, but assume they are close. I haven't looked into the Green.

Look forward to your build! I am currently trying to get all the scholarship money I can get so I'll have extra money to mod the car! I have a little dream that someday I'll be able to get my car on the same level with stock GT-R or faster......

So I'll be watching closely and see which turbo you are getting and how it's going to perform

Great start to the X Noize! I am new on here and looking to purchase an X this spring. Definately will keep tabs on your mods because that itch will most likely come sooner than later once I got the car in my possession!

Could you post up how much these mods are costing you? I assume your getting hooked up from vendors, but maybe a normal price each one of these parts costs with estimated labor and other costs. Good luck with everything man and can't wait to see whats next!!

I've have installed everything myself thus far, so there have been no labor costs involved. I'm sure I'll need some posse backup on the turbo install, but I have some friends nearby who are willing to help out.

1) GST Motorsports boost pill: http://www.gstmotorsports.com/store/...oducts_id=1050 $30

2) Custom ECUflash tune using Tactrix 2.0 cable: http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?pag...mart&Itemid=53 $169 +tuning

3) K&N drop in filter: https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...41824a1f0eba74 $59 at Buschur Racing

4) Ultimate Racing resonated test pipe: http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...TestPipe.shtml $230

5) Ultimate Racing O2 downpipe: http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...ousingDP.shtml $350

6) CBRD front mount intercooler and upper intercooler pipe: http://www.cbrdspeedfactory.com/Abou...CBRDStore.aspx Approx $1100 (picked mine up used from CBRD's Ralliart for less)

I bought the T1R exhaust second hand from a friend. I'm not sure what it cost new.

I vote you wait till full-race comes out with the Borg Warner EFR turbo kits and get one of those. Geoff said they should have something in March, so I'd give it till April...

As for clutch, you have to upgrade that, it's not even capable of holding stock power. As for the ACT HDSS, it does NOT drive like stock on the 10, don't know about the 9 cause I never driven one. However, if you don't have a knee injury (like I do) it's easily livable for everyday use. I'd have no problem getting one before I messed up my knee.

I'll go down to my grave old and gray fighting that statement. I've had too many Evos and know better. I drag raced my VIII, probably had about 25 launches on it. At about 350wtq, it started to slip on race gas in 4th and fifth gear at peak torque and 30,000 miles. When we replaced it with an HDSS, the stocker was in really good shape, the pressure plate just couldn't keep up.

Then I sat and watched Ted B make 400whp Dyno Dynamics on a 35R and it would not slip on pump gas.

My IX and both Xs, I never launched any of them at all. I got stuck on a horrible incline on someone's private property and heated this one up pretty good, but it has never slipped. With Mivec, these cars make way more torque than the VIIIs ever dreamed.

Clutch care is gigantic in how long these suckers last. My luck has always been that I am a guy that breaks transmissions or differentials instead of clutches, so launching has been off my resume since 2005.

With a turbo like a BBX Lite at ~24-25psi on pump gas, the torque is not going to change substantially. Everything is just going to get phase shifted over to the right, and voila, more power with similar torque. That's the benefit of a good turbo that doesn't puke-n-die at high rpm.

As for the ACT HDSS, it does NOT drive like stock on the 10, don't know about the 9 cause I never driven one. However, if you don't have a knee injury (like I do) it's easily livable for everyday use. I'd have no problem getting one before I messed up my knee.
I agree with this completely. ACT makes a fine product, I have no doubt of this. The HDSS is very affordable and quite functional. The high RPM lockout I experienced in my VIII was not there until I had a good 10k miles and 10+ launches on it. It pulled 1.6 60' foots without a hint of complaint.

My issue instead was always with the feel of the clutch. I'll probably catch flames for this, but the Evo is a precision car, and a heavy pressure place makes it feel like a Mustang to me. I don't question the launch power, it just made me like my car less in normal driving. I will baby this stocker to the bleeding edge, and if and when it does go, I'll get an Exedy twin standard, because the heavy duty one has too heavy pedal feel for me. This is just personal preference, nothing more.

I suggested the 1100's over 1000's or 800's just because its one of those things to do once and not really have to think about it again. I slapped some 800's in my car last summer and honestly they have served me well. The only reason I'm upgrading is because e85 is now a possibility...if you even think it might be a possibility, do it right the first time! On the flip side, the 800's were an easy drop in and I will be selling mine in a few months....LMK if you want them

340whp is certainly doable, I made 345whp on my BBX w/ a smaller FMIC and just a MBC and stock exhaust manifold....throw on a ported stocker w/ a BBX Lite and you'll be right where you need to be! MBC vs BCS is sorta a toss-up but on my car I think it *might* have helped make a few more ponies from 6500+.

Thanks much for the info. I'm staying stock manifold and ECU boost control for sure.

There is an E85 station less than a mile from my house, so a Blaqops kit and a pump could happen if I got itchy. I agree with measure twice cut once, so 1100cc it is.

While I'm thinking about it, I am a little scared of E85, but only because of the power potential. My 4G63 took a ton of abuse, but I see threads like yours and a couple semi-local cars that chipped the head off the piston too. I know you gotta pay to play, but I don't trust the 4B11 beyond 350whp, and really don't want to undergo the cost of an engine swap. My wife wants a motor swap like a heart attack. I don't see any harm in playing a little conservative. When I pay it off, I can push it harder then.

Idk man, my clutch slips just shifting fast 1-2 and 2-3, not launching or anything. And all I have is a catback and a cosworth filter. I hear you about not liking a heavy clutch pedal. I hear that spec clutches hold power well while retaining stock like pedal pressure. I'm getting mine installed next week, I'll send you a pm about how it is.

Jalal/noize- All the 10 guys go with exedy twin disks over the act's, pedal feel doesn't change it's only when you change the cmc that it stiffens. All you would need is one exedy twin, a set of diff pins and the ams cmc reinforcement ring and no more worries especially if your not launching. Anyhow, turbo wise the hks is what I would reccomend since you wanna stay stock-ish. The spool seems to best the competitors while being billet ball bearing as opposed to journal. Good luck and I'm sure you'll love it.

Have you removed the restrictor pill?

Seth, best of luck with the project. You goal makes full sense to me; take the car as far as it can go without the need to alter its drivetrain and without encountering negative effects on its drivability. I'm subscribed.

Thank you sir.

I'm definitely using Bryan (Razorlab) to tune this, and after talking to him am going to be running 24-25psi max in the middle. I want this engine to last; too many fragged 4B11s running around here. I also am almost positive I'm going to run a BBX Lite.

Look what came yesterday! I ended up choosing ID1000s. A big thanks to Mike @ AWD Motorsports for great service and fast shipping!

It's getting closer, 3 port on the way and BBX Lite up next.
