Evolutionm.net Project Evo X
She is goin' under the knife!
Turbo install starts in the morning!

In the air, heat shields pulled, bolts sprayed with Penetro

Work bench ready for a busted knuckle day tomorrow.

Down at my friend Andrew's, sharing the garage with a proper racecar!

Update:
She's all done. We spent about 7 hours Friday and 4 hours Saturday on turbo, injectors, and 3 port install, then logging. Turbo install on Evo X flat out sucks compared to Evo VIII and IX. Having it in the back is a huge challenge.
HUGE props to three guys that without whom I could not have pulled it off: First to my fellow mod-in-arms Mad_SB for the posse backup and all the tireless effort turning wrenches. You rule, man! Also, thanks to Andrew for all the installation help, a place to crash away from home, and an assortment of tools that can get any job done. Lastly, thanks to Bryan for your peerless mapping abilities, accommodating my crunched timetable, and willingness to work with a guy and his car that are 2300 miles away from you.
Much thanks also to Chad at CBRD for great customer service and awesome products, Mike@AWD for having the injectors I needed with insanely fast shipping and great prices, and Chris at MAP for getting us that wideband we requested in the eleventh hour.
When I first fired it up, we warmed it for a bit, and I gently rolled into boost to see where it would settle. On one pull it threw crazy KS counts, but we were actively monitoring the logs and got out of it. It scared the crap out of me. We looked at fueling, timing, boost, everything seemed OK, though boost is a couple psi more than I want to run, which Bryan warned me about. It was hitting about 26psi at spool and stays at 25psi throughout the range, finally settling around 24psi near the limiter. I'm going to adjust the reactive (only one now with the 3 port) WGDCs down a tad to remedy that today.
Once it warmed up more, the knock all went away and I'd see 1 counts rarely.
At that point, the sucker was crazy fast. It just keeps pulling and pulling, it is so rewarding to rev. The BBX Lite is such a great turbo! I have a friend with an older Dom2, and in my opinion, they don't even compare on pump gas. The Lite comes on so much sooner, but feels just as strong up top. I can't believe an internally gated stock appearing turbo can perform like this at high RPM.

Big congrats, man. It must be a relief to have the car back in one piece and running well. Once you get a few miles under her, let us know about the drivability. I'm very curious how the bigger turbo feels day to day.
Thanks Felix!
I have the boost sorted out now. Not hitting the rev limiter in first and second requires concentrated effort to remember to shift earlier, LOL. The stock turbo just petered out at high RPM, so I had more time to shift. This one wants at least 500rpm more than I got.
Pump gas to pump gas, I'd put this car against my 3071R and HKS cammed Evo VIII anytime, even with the 200 pound handicap.
