Mirror Caps
Okay, so short of actually calling Mitsubishi up and asking them, I've searched everywhere. I bought the car with the chrome caps (not my decision) and have lived with them until now. I've blacked out a lot on the car and they REALLY stick out now, and I fear once I get my wheels it will look just down right retarded. I tried putting some dark smoke lamin-x on them since I had a bunch laying around from blacking other parts out and it looked okay/liveable for about a week. Then it started to dry and shrink and now you can see chrome around it and it's starting to "fin" in areas and looking pretty bad (they are so curved the lamin-x wouldn't cooperate.) So now I really need to do something about it. I could paint them myself or powdercoat them or send them out to be painted, but they are plastic chrome and I'm not sure how well any of that will work, and if I do it myself it won't look as good and I'm sure will chip easier. So I'm trying to find where to buy the OEM painted mirror covers. I can find just about every other painted body part online except these. Does anybody know where to find them? I'll even take some matte black ones I don't really care, I just need something done before it looks worse and I put the wheels. Thanks for any help guys.
paint them yourself. plastic has very good paint adhesion if prepped properly. sand them down to the plastic, lay down a base coat, do a few more layers and clearcoat. just go easy with the paint on each coat until it's the way you want it. saves alot of money.

I just don't have a lot of time lately. If I can't find some inexpensive ones somewhere, I will probably just paint them myself. As for the CF ones, I'd rather not, I don't have any CF on my car so I think that would look out of place too, especially where they are. I can find plenty of CF caps though, everyone and their mother makes them. Looks like I will just have to do my own thing as always, just have to find the time.

I thought you could remove the chrome covers and it was colored under there.
Wow I didn't know that. I would paint it myself if that was the case. Or you could buy some nice aftermarket mirrors.

Yeah I hated them too, but could live with them for the moment. Now that a lot of my car is blacked out though, they really really pop. And no they are replacement for the covers. I'm going to either paint them myself or buy some CF covers, not decided yet. I wouldn't mind some different mirrors but I like keeping the power ability and there aren't any ones I like that aren't outrageously priced.

Somehow after reading this, it took me two minutes to finally find them online. I searched and searched and searched before and couldn't find them. Thanks for the inspiration
Now I just need to decide if I want to go CF or just body colored OEM.

. Easy to put on, don't look riced out, and not that expensive.
